Yahoo's Jason Cole (usually pretty reliable) just had this tweet:

"Leading candidates for CB Sean Smith, as if this moment, appear to be Tampa Bay, Arizona and Pats. But things are fluid."

Really fluid because apparently the cards and bucs have started a bidding war so now they are the leading candidates and the Patriots are out. Brent Grimes on a 1 year deal because he's cheap is exactly where Bill will be going

Where did you see that?

From the profootballcentral guy, technically he's a "rumor guy" but he broke Alex Smith to the chiefs 4 days before mainstream media along with other stories this off season.

And how do you explain 85% of his Twitter followers being fake accounts?

I don't care who follows him? I care that he says something is going to happen and then it does 90% of the time.

Smith dont care who he plays for, he's gonna go to the highest bidder.. Not gonna be NE.

These "fake" followers are ones that he's bought so he looks credible. About 20,000 of his almost 24,000 followers aren't actually people, but accounts that someone made to follow him.

Also, he sure showed off his credibility here:
Patriots To Tag Vollmer

Ok, so it's a fabrication.

Yup. No way you know that's the case...:bricks:

i love this time of year

So if he isn't 100% accurate he has no credibility, gotcha. Maybe the Patriots were thinking about tagging him, but decided not to? Things change real quick in the NFL. Its funny how much you guys hate getting any early news and taking it with a grain of salt, instead you guys tear everyone of these rumor guys down.

and to Brady_to_moss why is there a thread about free agent news if we're all going to wait for ESPN to confirm everything, no point in speculating or talking about anything!

i am guessing if they sign smith talib is going to walk..think he will either way

I'd rather have Smith anyways.

Aqib Talib - 27yrs old 6'1"
-5yrs in NFL
-19 INTs
-missed 26 games
-25 assists

Sean Smith - 25yrs old 6'3"
-4yrs in NFL
-5 total INTs
-missed 1 game only
-31 assists

** Both are better suited for man-coverage

Which of the 2 do you choose?

Talib is certainly more of a playmaker.. But 26 games missed in 5 years is unacceptable

Dolphin fans, from what I have gathered down here, aren't all that sad to see Smith leave.

He's not even that great. Not sure why everyone here loves him.

I gotta choose Smith. We need more reliability in our secondary. Talib, when healthy, is better. But in this case Id take a guy who can keep himself healthy.

6'3 big frame..stays healthy unlike talib
That's true, but he's inconsistent and he get's beat plenty of times. Plus he has poor ball skills.
