ESPN:"Nick Harper is 32, but there are rumblings the Patriots might be interested in him if they don't re-sign Asante Samuel"

You can have him...I am sure you will resign Samuel.

Nick Harper can leave indy on a broom for all I care.

He was the cat that tried to be cute and turned INTO a spinning disoreinted Rothlisburger with Bettis' fumble when he had the sideline and at very worst could have gone another 20 yards. Instead he made Rothlisburger look like a hero for eons to come with his shoe string tackle.

I don't care what type of number he has.. GOOD RIDDANCE !!!

He can't be worse than Eric Warfield, Duane Starks, Earthland Moreland, etc.... seriously Harper was protected in the Cover 2, the Patriots ask their CBs to play in more 1:1 situations and I am scared to death to see the Chad Scotts and Nick Harpers of the world alone on the outside.

To me this is this is the essence of the Samuel watch, there is such a drop-off from the top FAs (Samuel & Clements) that the question becomes "Who takes his place if Samuel leaves?"

I will be happy if Samuel (or Clements) is signed but think the reality is neither player will be here. All the talk will be about how bad the secondary is, blah, blah, blah.. but IMO if they shore up the front seven they can live and prosper with ok CBs (round 1 pick, plus a savy vet, Hobbs, Gay, maybe Wilson).. if the front seven doesn't get upgraded and they lose Samuel it is going to take some serious "coaching up" to make the defense competitive.

He's also the guy whose wife stabbed him in the leg with a kitchen knife a few days before that game if I remember correctly.

Cool, that means the latter part of his career will be as successful as Irving Fryar's.

one way to raise the price is show interest - get NaPolian to bite and spend money in the wrong place - I most likely am wrong but it is an Idea that only BB/Pioli know the answer to
