Report: Rex Ryan would rather get fired than accept the status quo

If Ryan was not in favor of giving Sanchez the contract, and if he was also not in favor of trading for Tebow -- then he has a point

he's on the record saying he was on board for both things...he's stated for the record over and over that getting Tebow was his and Tannenbaum's baby and has vociferously denied that Woody Johnson had anything to do with it.

I don't see how this can work. Woody obviously knows how the personnel decisions are made in the organization and unless something has changed since Hard Knocks it was clear that Rex has a ton of say in who stays and who goes. It didn't appear that Tany did anything without running it by Rex first.

With that said Woody gave Tanenbaum two coaches, maybe he will give Rex two GM's or maybe give him the GM job....please let this happen.

According to Francessa, "everybody knows" that the D.C., Pettine, is the source.

Interesting. Why would he do it ?
On another note, Francesa says pats are not winning this yr and will lose in the playoffs. Lets see.

Reports are Rex was very instrumental in bringing Tebow into the Jets' organization.

Anybody here put in his place (having zero power to control personnel and having Tebow stuck in your face) would do the same thing.

I'll be the last one to make excuses for his mouth but he's a great football mind and got what amounts to a NE-Pete Carroll screw job, and a Cleveland Belichick screw job. He's got the worst GM in the sport, got stuck with the worst OC in the sport, was not allowed to build depth on offense, he's got a meddling owner who inflicted a massive problem on him (Tebow), and he's been asked to front for the whole sordid affair.

The real story here: Woody Johnson is a putrid owner. He erases Dan Snyder from the Stupid Book.

There is a lot wrong with that paragraph but I will stick with the bolded one: Rex Ryan was all over the trade. He and Tanenbaum discussed it prior to Tanenbaum calling the Broncos. Ryan was on board from the get go. I am not sure how you 1) Blame Woody for the Trade, when Tanenbaum called the Broncos without talking to Woody first. 2) Tanenbaum asked Rex what he thought about Tebow and Rex was "excited" about the possibility of trading for him

I have been saying for some time all of these reports being leaked from sources had to have been strategically leaked from someone higher up in the organization. Every time there was or should have been a move at quarterback, there would be a press leak that would "explain" why the move was really made.

If it was a real anonymous source, they would be afraid of being found out for leaking this much information throughout the year.

We are getting a real life example of how organizations use media for propaganda to sway public opinion.

According to a post in one of the Jets forums, the writer of the article will be on Daily News live at 5:00.

Did anyone ask Mike Francesa what year it was when he woke up and made that prediction?

Jets Insider.com Forums - View Single Post - Manish Mehta report is false

Well, if true, this sort of kills the Ryan denials and makes that press conference even more of a joke....

Everything this guy has reported throughout the year may have been twisted, but there's no denying there was a lot of truth to them too. The Jets confirm that every time.

They are not the only team in football, and not even the only team in NY, that has to deal with the NY media. And yet, they're the only ones who have so much trouble getting these leaks to stop. Why? Because they're hand in hand with the media and don't really want to stop them. That's what I believe. Rex even stated on record that he doesn't have a policy against Jets members talking to the media.

Yeah, he hates Belichick so is never too keen on picking the Pats. Been saying how "terrible" the Pats' defense is for awhile now. Of course, saying any specific team isn't winning it all is hardly a bold prediction.

No matter what happens, he'll spin it the best he can. I heard him recently saying how he had predicted the Ravens would beat the Pats in the playoffs last year, and how they "should" have won.

I would find it highly entertaining to watch the NFL Draft with Rex Ryan acting as Head Coach and General Manager. Watching Rex Ryan oversee the drafting of players on Offense for the Jets would make my next decade.

Manish's sources have become impeccable while making a fool out of him as a manipulated mouthpiece in the process. He's either getting his info from Rex or Woody.

New York Jets coach Rex Ryan disputes report saying he would want to be fired if major changes weren’t made to the team’s offense - NYPOST.com

Manish wasn't "mannish" enough to retract his own story, or to name Pettine as his source in the original story, if we are to believe Mike Francesa.

It's unimaginable that something like this could happen in New England or in most franchises in professional sports.

Sack him and bring his defensive genius here. As a HC I hate the guy...as a DC he's as good as anyone.

You know if there was a FB in the draft with the last name Rambo, Rex would draft him in the first round.

You know, I've had the same thought at times myself but I just wouldn't be able to stomach the guy (no pun intended.)
