wow! Bad news for him.

Was a second rounder when most were projecting him lower because of injury concerns.

Jim Schwartz: Ryan Broyles lost for year with torn ACL - NFL.com

That sucks. He was play really well too.

From Tony Pauline's latest Risers and Sliders:

Nothing towards you or anyone else, but I wish we could stop posting Pauline's columns. He either doesn't care or doesn't know what he was talking about. Quanterus Smith is this columns example.

I read somewhere that Brandon jenkins from FSU will enter the draft. He was injured this season. He is a guy that can fall in the later rounds to us.First round talent.

Sure, but I'd rather have his teammate Tank Carradine who should be available around the time.

Any thoughts on my dude John Boyett, free safety out of Oregon?

Got hurt this year so he barely played. Instinctive as hell and balances his aggression with taking good angles. Might fall because he got injured this early on this season, and isn't an impressive specimen.

I like him as a real bargain in the 7th if he's available. Doesn't have huge upside but as a safe late rounder who can add depth at the safety position, I'd have no problem at all picking him up.

S Ryan Lownes has just done a one round mock on twitter and he had a new name for the Pats:

30.) NE #Patriots - Datone Jones/DL - #UCLA - Versatile, active D-Lineman would be a picture perfect fit in the Pats D. #NFLMockDraft

He's getting quite a buzz on twitter and whilst I've seen a couple of youtube clips, he's not one I've studied too closely. Now I do think he's a very good candidate to fill that LDE/interior pass rusher role. He's very active but the one thing that concerns me is that he doesn't look all that 'long' to my eyes, at least not in the sense that Carradine and Ansah are. Certainly has a very good engine though. What's are record on PAC prospects?

Check out 3:22 in the second vid to see what he's capable of. And BTW, that's Khaled Holmes getting abused yet again. I've seen him go up against Jones, Nix and Lotulelei and he's been destroyed every time. Would not touch him until the late rounds. Not impressed at all.

Another video. Tell you what, I'm not convinced he's 1st round caliber as a Pats pick, but as a 2nd round interior pass rusher, I'd absolutely snap him up. Has very good quickness to get into the gap.

I like Jones, but not in the first. That seems too high for him.

That UCLA defense is intriguing. I like Tevin McDonald. Much better than his brother TJ.

Very annoyingly, my recording of the SEC Championship Game cut out with about 5 mins to go in the 1st half. Up to that point, Alex Ogletree was having an excellent game. How did he play in the 2nd half?

I thought Ogletree played well, but Georgia's run defense was horrible. Maybe it was the scheme they were running, but I thought that Georgia's 3 man front with Geathers on the NT, Garrison Smith at RDE and Jenkins at LDE was horrible. The only time they accomplished anything was on the pass rush and because the secondary had excellent coverage.

My backup option for a swing tackle after Kyle Long is Reid Fragel of Ohio St. Former TE, who only was converted to RT this year. 6'8" 305-310#. Michigan wanted to convert him to OT when they recruited him but he refused, so they didn't offer him a scholarship. Michigan St. also wanted to convert him to OT. Ohio St. offered him the chance to stay at TE so he went there.

He's very athletic, and has played well on the right side this year. He's bulked up from 280# to around 310# or so and is still learning the nuances of the position, but his athleticism has showed up. I think he'd be a great Scar project if Long goes too high. He was apparently a monster as a blocking TE - shades of Steve Maneri - and he's adapted very well so far to tackle. With his athleticism, I think he'd make a nice swing tackle.

And with Vrabel there as a coach and still really good friends with BB, I'm sure that BB will have him well scouted.

Good mention, btw. BB does like the TE conversions.

Thanks. Not to mention the Urban Meyer connection. But Vrabel is the DL coach, which means that his guys have to go up against Fragel in practice all the time, so I'm sure he'll have an opinion.

Phenomenal

Looks interesting, big kid. Why a swing tackle, unless something is done with Vollmer the Patriots will need a starting right tackle.

Ha ha!

Not making a judgement on him but decided to start scouting him. First play, he comes out of his stance and falls face down in the dirt. Looked like he was trying to cut block a ghost. Good thing is he can only get better :)

I finally got a look at Blidi Wreh-Wilson. I mostly wasn't impressed at all, but that's because they were mostly playing zone coverage. In in the few snaps of man and press man he was a different player. Physical, quick, played very close coverage, used the sidelines. He's a little leggy though and got beat deep once, but he used DPI on purpose to keep the gain minimal. He's undervalued for a man coverage team.
