Very good huh? LOL

And what do you expect with Kyle Arrington as our starting outside CB?

As I said in the opening post, it will take time, and there will be bumps. I didn't expect much before Talib comes off his suspension. And I don't expect miracles in his first game as a Patriot. But back game 12 or so I expect to see a significant difference, and by the end of the season I hope to see "very good". That's my target, FWIW.

I hope that you are right about this, because what I saw today scared me. :bricks:

This D is complete garbage and will be the main reason why they won't make the SB this year

The defense has been eroding every year since the patriots last won a Superbowl......hell even in the super bowls mcnabb and jake had great games.

Bill's system is outdated and now teams don't even even fear him anymore.......bill needs to go.

Yeah that's it..lets fire bill..that will solve it :bricks::bricks:

Talking about firing Belichick is beyond ridiculous, but I do think we need to bring in a defensive mind with another philosophy in next season. What Bill is coaching them to do isn't working, his gameplans aren't working, his draft picks in the secondary aren't working. It's time for a new perspective on that side of the ball.

Go away and please don't return.

There's a clear need for help on D. I find it incredibly difficult to see this D helping Brady to another Lombardi at this present juncture.

BB is fine as a HC but his defensive system, and/or the people he entrusts to run his system, are being seriously exploited. Not just game in and game out but year in and year out.

Something is broke and needs to be fixed quickly or it's going to be another disappointing end to yet another season.

Coolguy just got put on my Cool Ignore List.

Very good?

I might get some movement in the front of my trousers if they go from terrible to mediocre. Hell, even if they go from terrible to mildly bad, I might get some goosebumps.

Hey now.... Talib will be there next week.

Don't give up on this just yet.

There's nothing outdated or special about it. It's not fancy, and it doesn't take a genius to figure it out:

- The front 7 is plenty good enough, if the secondary isn't made of used tissue paper. We good use a little more pass rushing help opposite Chandler Jones, but the other guys put up 3 sacks on the Bills today. The LBs are solid, though they could use some help in the coverage LB department (I wanted to draft Lavonte David, who we could have had at 48, and which I still think was a mistake; of course, BB probably wasn't planning on Dane Fletcher going on IR for the year).

- The secondary needs at least 2 and preferably 3 decent CBs who can play press-man and a deep free safety who can play cover-1. McCourty gives us the latter, but he's still learning the nuances of the position. Dennard gives us 1 CB, but he's still learning. Talib gives us a second, but we didn't have him today. So we were short. IMHO BB gambled that it was better to leave McCourty at FS and give him the oppotunity to get accustomed to the position as opposed to jerking him around week to week, believing that he could win a shootout with the Bills. He was right. It may not have been pretty, but personally I'm happier keeping McCourty at FS and bringing Talib in at CB opposite Dennard next week than moving McCourty around from week to week. I'd be even happier with another guy who can play press-man in order to relegate Arrington to dime-ST duties.

There's nothing special or fancy about playing press-man with a cover-1 safety. It doesn't take a mental giant to figure it out. It does take some personnel, all of which we didn't have today. Hard to execute without a full deck. Get the personnel in place, and maybe the defense can start to execute, and then you can evaluate whether BB's system is out of date or not.

i'M not TRYING TO SOUND CRAZY!!1

The broncos went through the same thing the pats are going through......hof coach Mike shanahan stayed too long as the head coach and schemes became outdated.

The patriots are going through the same thing.

Hard drugs are bad

Keep in mind the OP made this regarding us signing Talib.

Its not BB the coach who needs to go its BB the GM who has wasted tons of draft picks on guys that can't play! Im watching the game saying our guys are being blanketed and their guys are wide open. The problem is the Pats don't have the talent to play man to man and everyone knows it!

Maybe Talib makes a differencem but that was terrible cover and tackling today.
