Injury notes on Brandon Lloyd, Patrick Chung and Matthew Slater
Posted by Jeff Howe at 9:18 pm
Special teams captain Matthew Slater limped badly out of the locker room tonight, which wasn’t a good sign for the valued player in the kicking game. Slater wasn’t on the field during Leon Washington’s 25-yard punt return that set up the Seahawks’ game-winning drive. Hard to imagine the Patriots surrender their longest return of the season if Slater was on the field. Slater entered the game with a team-high five special teams tackles, and he had two of their three stops tonight.
Safety Patrick Chung left the game with a shoulder injury, but he wasn’t wearing a sling when he left the stadium. That’s a good sign in and of itself, but there’s no telling if there was any protection under his shirt.
Wide receiver Brandon Lloyd left late, but it didn’t appear to be anything concerning. That will need to be monitored going forward. Lloyd had gotten dinged up a couple times earlier this season but returned.
Slater looks like he's out for the foreseeable future...
