Going for it on 4th down was CORRECT...here's why...

I perceive similarly…if kind of makes me recall in the early 2000's when all the pundits would say, "The Genius BB is in P. Manning's head…"
Now, I feel Peyton has gotten into BB's head.
I didn't disagree with 4th and 2 but I was frustrated by the 23 inch play to get 24 inches (sorry Kevin).
However, I did not like the SB 4th and 11 call and thought that along with last Sunday's 4th and 5 decisions both speak to a level of arrogance Josh or BB may have.

It's funny, because I don't think any of those calls were because of arrogance. I think they were all caused by fear of what the opponent would do against our defense, or in the case of the 4th and 11, fear that Gost would miss the FG.

When you have a double digit lead and are under 10 minutes to go in the 4th quarter, you punt the ball and give Manning as long a field as possible to navigate and put a score up instead of taking a chance of giving him the ball near midfield. Again, it was an absolutely terrible call in 2009 and it was a terrible call on Sunday.

Agree with this. At that point in the game, you are playing the clock. You make the other team take as much time as possible to score.

The two calls were nothing alike which tells me you just don't get it. I could understand if you put forth SOME kind of reasoned explanation but you didn't even bother to do so. Your declaration that it was a bad call doesn't make it so.

Sure I did. We had a double digit lead and under 10 minutes left to play. In that situation, you give the opposing quarterback the longest field possible to drive so it decreases the odds of scoring while also taking time off the clock. Your reading comprehension issues are not my problem.

And the calls are similar as the Patriots should have punted in both instances.

People must be forgetting that it took Manning like 3 minutes to go 80 or 90 yards a couple drives before. We were on their 35 yard line, do people really think the 20-25 (best case scenario) yards would make any difference, with our cornerbacks lol. It was just a poorly executed play by Brady and The OL. The worst scenario for that play should have been to at least loft one up deep and it's either picked off (as good as a punt) or knocked down and they still have to go 65 yards.

True but that's what the decision boils down to is do you count on your defense to make something of that extra 20-30 yards or do you count on the GOAT QB to convert 5 yards. I go with my GOAT QB in that situation

Of course that drive was in the 3rd quarter when there wasn't as much urgency. It more likely would have taken less time then that. Essentially your argument is that the extra 20 yards was going to burn a significant amount of time which is nonsense. Thats about 30 seconds as opposed to if you get the first down you can burn at least 2 minutes.

The decision was made at 8min and a three score lead. Not 6 minutes and a 10 point lead. Its a big difference.

Brilliant reasoning. Which would decrease their chance of scoring and run down the clock more, punting to them or holding onto the ball? Which one?
