Great news for Patriots fans! Ryan has confirmed that Mark

Sanchez will remain his starter. :rocker:

Maybe the Jets can hire Schottenheimer again just to fire him a second time. Weren't we told that firing Schottenheimer was the key to unleashing the Jets high-octane offense?

“He’s definitely our guy,” Ryan said. “I mean we’ve had some poor performances in the past, and not just from our quarterback, from our team and we’ve been whipped pretty good, but I’m confident we’ll come back. . . .

“As competitive as Mark is, I know this is killing him. He’s going to want to respond. But you have to stay within the structure of what we need too. It’s a guy looking for a three-run homer with one guy on base. We can’t have that. Do his job. When guys are open, get him the football. Don’t force the issue. And protect the football. I think he will. We’ve seen him before. He’s responded.”

Rex: Sanchez is “definitely our guy” | ProFootballTalk

1 touchdown in their last 34 possessions, per 98.5

You've gotta love Marky Mark and the deer-in-the-headlights bunch

In fairness to doctors, it is hard to diagnose heartlessdoucheism.
I think back to the beginning of the 2001 season. Terry Glenn was an extremely gifted WR but was a head case. He was probably the 2nd best palyer on the team.

BB had the guts to tell Glenn it was over for him as a Patriot. I think that was one of the sparks to the team leading to the SB run. We all know what the main spark was.

I don't think Rex has the balls to take similar actions with Holmes.

You know what I realized. With Sanchez struggling, having Tebow on the team puts the Jets in danger of having a real and major QB controversy developing. When the Jets traded for Tebow, I don't think anyone had any inkling that this was a possibility with all the euphoria of the genius move by Tannebaum outsmarting the league to make the Jets the most innovative and dynamic offense in the league. In hindsight, it might not have been the right move.

But hey, anyone can Monday Morning QB. Anyone who say now that they saw a QB controversy coming are just full of crap.

BTW, remember when Jets homers like Rah!Rah! said that the fact the Jets couldn't score a TD in the preseason was just overrated media crap? I just heard them say on radio that the Jets' offense has scored one TD in their last 35 possessions. But that might just be the media piling on again.

Are you implying Ryan is too soft on Homes? What more do you want from Rexy? He already punished Holmes by making him a captain with zero leadership abilities and let him interview and have final say on the receivers' coach. How much more discipline do you want from Ryan? I already think he has stretched the limits of what he can and can't do within the CBA.

In all seriousness, they guaranteed his contract this year and next by not cutting him this past offseason. If they cut him now, they throw something like $14 million out the door. I don't think Ryan has the say to cut him at this point.

Mark Sanchez Appreciation Thread

This is your chance to express your gratitude for Mark Sanchez and the New York Jets offense.

According to his Wikipedia page, Sanchez "tied four other quarterbacks for the second most post-season road victories by a quarterback in NFL history."

The article goes on to promote Sanchez' unique abilities and uncanny quarterbacking: "Sanchez has been praised for his ability to maintain composure, in spite of defensive pressure, and focus on finding an open receiver on the field thus, allowing him to extend the team's offensive series."

The failures of the Jets offenses is not Mark's fault at all. In fact, he is easily a top-3 NFL quarterback if only he had the right offensive coordinator, offensive line, running game, and wide receivers. I expect that in the next fifteen years, if the Jets just give him a chance to prove himself, he will make people forget about Joe Montana.

Here's hoping to a long, long, career in New York. May the Jets front office, coaching staff, and management stand by Mark during these trying times. With a little luck, Mark will sign another long-term deal with the team and remain the face of the franchise forever!

We appreciate you, Mark. Keep it up! I hope that I don't have to tell my grandkids about you, because you will still be the starting quarterback for the New York Jets.

That's the Jet way, reward mediocrity.

Holmes, totally lacking leadership skills and doesn't earn the job....make him a team captain. Holmes complains and has a shotty season.....reward him with a nice contract extension.

This could get brutal next week with JJ Watt and his gang going in for a visit. I'm gonna enjoy the destruction but i'm thinking that a jets win might be better for us.
