Anyone else experiencing page freezes as they try to move to a new thread or page? This problem is site specific for me....no issues elsewhere on the web. I took me 20 minutes just to open this thread.

Yes, it happens to me quite frequently.

Happens to me whenever I try to click on the "Media Headlines" especially ESPN Boston.
However, I have an old pC running Windows XP/IE7

Every once in a while I have problems opening a thread because an ad is not loading properly. If I refresh and get a different set of ads, it loads fine.

whenever I open game threads I see loads of terrible posts

It can't be the page unless content from another site (like an ad) isn't loading. Also it would happen to everybody, not just you. That would indicate a problem with the server(s).

In general if a page won't load kill the thread (the X browser button) and refresh (F5 or whatever browser button). Browsers are threaded and I wonder how solid that code is when lots of threads are open. If you are fond of having 20 tabs open in your browser, don't do that. Too many threads.

Press Ctrl-Shft-Esc and learn to use Task Manager to see what, if anything, could be using too much CPU. Often a process like Adobe Flash will be going wild, eating all kinds of CPU, and nothing is going to work right. Kill the process. It will restart itself automatically.

Noticed it the other night on IE only (Chrome and FireFox seem to be working without any issues). Tried it now with it and noticed it's still acting up, but as I said it's opening fine in the other two for some reason.

As Haley said refreshing seems to solve it. With the holiday weekend I can't reach anyone to fix it - but hang in there and I'll see what I can find out. Although you might want to try Chrome anyway - it's really quick :rocker: I didn't want to switch off of IE either, but man, it definitely works well and doesn't crash my PC when I have 10+ tabs open (which is normal for me ;))

I have totally switched from IE to Chrome and will NEVER go back.

Was the board down today for a while or was it at my end? All other sites seemed OK.

There was a brief hiccup but I think it was only down for about 10 minutes. But no it wasn't just you :)

I've got a problem with one ad on top of the pages... Everytime an ad for citibank.be is displayed I'm taken to the citibank site without even clicking the ad  Any chance you could look into this cuz it's really annoying :(

Yeah, my browser kept freezing today too.

The issues seemed to be with IE, which I tested yesterday, last night, and this morning so it appears they may have fixed it because I had also been experiencing it earlier when someone else mentioned it. Hopefully it's working for you now as well :)

That shouldn't be happening. I tried to re-create it and couldn't get it to happen, so let me know if it occurs again :(
