Hmm ... I see what you are saying but I have to disagree with this a little. You cannot "cherry pick" by discounting the mental component of the game. The mental game is a huge part of any pro sport. It is a part of the player's skill set. If a player does not have the mental toughness, aptitude or discipline that is required, then this needs to show up in their stats. That is what makes this comparison completely fair.

Holmes off-field-issues is part of the package to consider when evaluating him. So I'm fine doing a statistical analysis that punishes Holmes for being an idiot off the field.

Imagine the Tebow Wildcat package with 7 lineman and Hill and Cromartie at WR (two burners who beat almost any 1 on 1 coverage)

It would force the defense to give safety help on both sides and put only 7 in the box while we have an extra blocker. Tebow throws a nice deep ball too.

Not only do we have the finest organization in professional sports, along with a very likeable group of team-first players, but we are also blessed with having a rival like the Jets. We get to not only beat up on them when we play them; we also get to watch their inner turmoil and rotting from within during both the offseason and real season. It's very fun.

I truly believe that if the Patriots had the Jets players and coaches (regardless of their success), I would have a hard time rooting for them. There's nothing worse than a bunch of infighting, greed, and public trash talking. Even small things like some Paul Pierce ****iness and Red Sox spoiled jerks have really turned me off to investing time in them. But those things are so miniscule compared to the every day reality of being a Jets fan. Coaches thump their chests and then fail, players are greedy, selfish, and generally bad human beings, constantly being in trouble with the law, and they may be the most mouthy team of all-time.

Rex Ryan would probably be the best coach in the NFL to sit in a bar and drink with (I actually know a coach who has said this) but he also has to be the last coach in the NFL that a team would want in front of a microphone with their logo on his golf shirt.

When you consider that Holmes has no prayer of being 1 or 2 here with Welker and Lloyd, in addition to the numbers you have to consider the role and mindset of a #3 and just consider Holmes in that role makes me laugh. It would be Terry Glenn 2001 all over again.
