It's always been a tough sell as are all the all star games and the way players increasingly treat it and due to legit injury concerns and rules implemented to limit injury and attempting to slot it in the off week preceding the SB thereby eliminating many selections...

Not sure it's salvagable. They may end up treating it as some sort of SB week gala...with the actual selected players in attendance.

Have it after the season. Have it in an international venue, preferably warm and friendly. I hear Cartagena Colombia fits the bill :itsok:

Worst All Star game in any sport. It is a glorified flag football game. Just have the All Star voting and give the winners a free trip to Hawaii for a week. Blow off the game.

Would rather see skills competitions like the QB challenge than the Pro Bowl game.

The only All Star game that is worth anything is MLB because there is no change in the way the game is played with the exception of pulling the starting pitcher after 2 innings but you're still replacing him with another starting pitcher who is using all of his pitches. Basketball maybe as well since it isnt a contact sport.

The Pro Bowl is basically unwatchable because of the dumbed down defense and the NHL all star game is slightly watchable if you like a lot of scoring but if you like actual hockey the lack of hitting reminds you its an exhibition and makes it less exciting.

Ross Tucker mentioned that they still make money off of the pro-bowl so he wasn't sure why they would can it. Sure the game seems like a big joke, but some people like watching a real-live Madden game being played out.

I've been saying for years that they should just replace it with a live awards show that includes short video clips of each player's in-season performance. The game itself has degenerated into touch football.

It's about time

Ever since Robert Edwards freak injury,I wanted this worthless game gone

Not sure what the actual game had to do with it since that injury occurred on the beach and not in the game itself. But I agree. It's pretty useless.

The injury occurred on the beach during a Pro Bowl related an event. Its not like it happened down the cape during his off time.

This.

Make it like NBA all star weekend, but without an actual game.

And yet it happened at a time when no one was liable. The Krafts stepped up and paid out his rookie contract although they were under no obligation to. But Edwards possibly/probably lost out on millions in career earnings. They did away with that whole pro bowl futures concept immediately thereafter, and eventually all the competitive programming ESPN had undertaken to mine increasing off season interest in NFL player related activity. This game is just too inherently violent and physical and increasingly lucrative for the athlete who can remain healthy and productive to allow for much of anything beyond an awards show. Can you imagine if Brady had torn his labrum winning one of those QB challenges he did back in the day when ESPN was trying to create NFL off season programming? The risk and potential liability is just eclipsing the need for competition related programming outside the confines of player contracts.

Might as well do away with it. Tried to watch it last year. So boring I couldn't.

I have no problrm with the Pro Bowl as it was in Hawaii. I do have a problem with the stupidity it was turned into by Goodell.

I would be fine with going back to the way it was in Hawaii after the SB, maybe with a "combine" type of competition added similar to the MLB All Star game home Run Derby.

And I guarantee you'd see a lot more of the players go then, ...

It was in Hawaii last year albeit in the week before the SB. They don't have a contract with Aloha Stadium for this year. While the TV rating may be up, probably as a result of the unfortunate pre SB scheduling, there has always been a problem filling the stadium, even with free tickets... The game was so ridiculous last season the fans in attendance were booing...

Who is going to pay the players (or their teams) who get injured in these combine type competitions???

It's touch football...get rid of it. Haven't watched a pro bowl game in about 7 years. It's a joke
