Brockers in town at Gillette

Don't forget that each team is allowed to bring in 30 players for visits; teams CANNOT workout players at their facilities.

Sometimes teams bring in a player so they can have their medical staff evaluate the player (see: GRONK).

Sometimes it's an under-the-radar "let's see what makes this guy tick" (see: Edelperson).

Sometimes it's to set values (see: White, Pat).

Sometimes it's to mess with the JEST (see: Gholston, Vernon).

Another reason to bring guys in is that the Pats anticipate having to play against them for years.

But no need to overthink -- a substantial minority of mock drafts I've seen show Brockers falling to the late first round.

And that's the reason he became a Pro Bowler. His 40 time as a defensive lineman.

Your posts are funny. You sound like Al Davis.

When spewing irrelevant arguments, at least make then factual. Brockers was faster than Brace.

Brockers' pro day should help his stock, since his numbers were better than at the combine:

Brockers' consensus time was 5.15 seconds and he posted a 30-inch vertical leap, four inches better than he jumped at the NFL scouting combine.

An imposing defensive prospect at 6-foot-6, 322 pounds, Brockers ran the 40-yard dash in 5.36 seconds at the NFL scouting combine and posted a 26 1/2 inch vertical leap.

He also registered an 8-9 broad jump, a 4.81 short shuttle and a 7.46 three-cone drill.

By way of comparison, Seymour ran a 4.95

RICHARD SEYMOUR 40 YARD DASH TIME

Big Vince ran a 5.08

VINCE WILFORK 40 TIME

and Brace ran a 5.5

Brockers as an extremely HIGH CEILING, and even his floor is good enough to be a decent player in the league.

If you watch tape of Brockers in the national championship game, then you know what a huge upside he has.

He has huge length, but plays with a fairly low pad level. He is almost impossible to move with a single blocker and still difficult when being double teamed. Except for Randall of Texas, he is the best in this draft anchoring. On running plays, he can find the ball. On passing plays he is going to be very difficult to double if offenses have to also double Wilfork.

In my mind, he would be a beast in our defense after a red shirt year to learn technique and how to read before reacting.

If Brockers is there at #15, we need to go get him. (#27 and #48)
