I would love to hear an explanation for why the Broncos thought the Jets were a better deal for the franchise. I'm sure there is one but maybe it is just as simple as the Jets got there first.

Even though the Jags' 4th rounder had more value according to the trade value chart (which may or may not be updated) than the Jets' 4th and 6th, but the Broncos might see the two picks as more valuable.

Yeah, I guess this is it.

If the Jets are a super whore, are they renaming themselves the NY Magdalenes now that Tebow is there.

The two picks theory doesn't fly since they had to trade a 7th to get the 6th. A half million more in reimbursement and a pick 7 slots earlier in the fourth...

The fix was in on this from the get go. Jimmy Sexton is Rex and Sparano's agent too. They'd been talking about this since the day Denver initially became the front runner in the Manning race. He sold Tebow on the market benefits of playing in the Big Apple vs. for a home town team whose GM and football people didn't want him. In NY he will be featured and has a good shot at replacing the franchise QB for an organization that caters to media to manufacture relevance and listens to it's idiot fanbase's demands when they hit bumps in the road...

No comment from Rex yet? This comedy is not over until the fat man sings.

This is hilarious.

New York Jets want Tim Tebow to stay far away from New York City nightlife - NFL News | FOX Sports on MSN

"Jets officials are strongly encouraging new recruit Tim Tebow to live in New Jersey to keep him as far away as possible from the temptations of New York's nightlife, a source close to the team has said.

While believing the quarterback will be a great asset on the field, off it they think Tebow — a teetotaler and virgin who is saving himself for marriage — will need to have his hand held."

This is the last guy on the team that needs babysitting. How stupid are they?

I'm not sure about that. How many times have you seen/heard about a kid who grew up in a strict, religious home, did everything right, was well-mannered, saving himself for marriage, etc. go to college and go absolutely bats*** wild? Just because Tebow's Mr. Subdued right now doesn't mean he will stay that way in that cesspool.

See "Marinovich, Todd."

Best part of that entry: He has never eaten a Big Mac or an Oreo or a Ding Dong. When he went to birthday parties as a kid, he would take his own cake and ice cream to avoid sugar and refined white flour. He would eat homemade catsup, prepared with honey. He did consume beef but not the kind injected with hormones. He ate only unprocessed dairy products. He teethed on frozen kidney and liver. When Todd was one month old, Marv was already working on his son's physical conditioning. He stretched his hamstrings. Pushups were next. Marv invented a game in which Todd would try to lift a medicine ball onto a kitchen counter. Marv also put him on a balance beam. Both activities grew easier when Todd learned to walk. There was a football in Todd's crib from day one. "Not a real NFL ball," says Marv. "That would be sick; it was a stuffed ball."

Todd was wild before college. Tebow is a NFL vet

During high school Todd started drinking in after-game parties and smoked marijuana daily. His use of marijuana grew to the point that he would meet with a group of friends—athletes, skaters, surfers and musicians—every day before school to share a bong before classes in what they nicknamed "Zero Period." Having previously dealt with social anxiety, Marinovich found marijuana relaxed him and did not affect him later during sporting events. The rumors of his use spread to opposing fans, however, who taunted him with chants of "Marijuana-vich" during basketball . His parents divorced around the time he transferred high schools, and he lived in a small apartment with his father for his final two high school seasons. Marinovich enjoyed the period, noting: "Probably the best part of my childhood was me and Marv's relationship my junior and senior years. After the divorce, he really loosened up. It was a bachelor pad. We were both dating."

Wow, for real? This team for whom "every" player in the NFL so wanted to play for a few years ago — according to Marshall Faulk — seems determined to publicly insult and embarrass as many of its players as possible.

"I'm finally away from my dad telling me everything to do. And I've got to say I have taken advantage of it. Full advantage."

I used Marinovich as an example because his story is well-known. Tebow may be an NFL vet, but he's an NFL vet in Denver, and he's a sheltered 24-year-old. It's pretty bad if the Jets see the dangers of him being in NYC.

But if you're arguing that kids who are raised in a strict environment don't tend to cut loose and go completely the other way when they have freedom, I'll just chuckle, shake my head, and agree to disagree.

nfln had it wrong all day.

now you know why I detest the fact that Rich Eisen is drawing breath on OUR planet...

This seems a little much.

Ok, let me see if I understand this correctly. He went to UF where the temp is hot and the girls are hotter.

He's been in Denver as a Pro Football player and there is plenty of places to get into trouble there. Now the Jets are concerned the he might yeild to the temptations of NYC?

You can't make this stuff up, it just keeps on getting better.

And what's really interesting is that Tebow claims he didn't know where he was going and learned it on ESPN like the rest of us, but in a radio interview today Elway categorically said Tebow knew everything.

Man, two days as a Jet and it looks like Tebow's already a liar.

I'm less concerned about the city itself than I am about the POS influences on the team.
