Manning to Broncos

Are you saying that Smith > Manning? If not, your Saints argument is meaningless. Your Cowboys/Eagles argument is even more meaningless.

Your Broncos comment is just a joke. Manning led his team to 10-6 in his last year as a starter.

Deus the message boad nanny is at it again.

...
My dog had a spinal injury similar to Manning's. He had surgery (much more rapidly than Manning did, though it was also a more serious injury), and went through an extended recovery. Still, though he's fully mobile and a reasonable version of his old self, you would never say that there are no ongoing symptoms. Manning has undoubtedly recovered more than my dog, but how do you know he's fully recovered?

Huh?

Wow...i'm really suprised. I thought the 49ers were a no-brainer for him. I don't understand what the Broncos have to offer.

You jumped on my post. I've responded. The 49ers wouldn't be facing either the Cowboys or Eagles this season. The only NFCE team they face is the Giants. The rest of your post was just as easily deal with as that.

If you don't like it, feel free to go curl up into a ball and cry to your mommy.

Lets not ruin a good thread please.

Ever since I heard Brian Griese on talk radio sometime last week or the week before talking about how advantageous it would be to have Elway, one of the QB greats not to mention a guy who won SBs in his late thirties, selling the team to Manning, I have thought Denver would be his choice. I don't know if its the right choice for him but it seemed instantly clear to me that Elway wanted to dump Tebow and get Manning and it would probably happen. SF jumping into the game was something I honestly did not expect.

I will give you Three 1) The Packers 2) The Saints 3) The Giants.

Packers have been great for only a single postseason run under Rodgers. Saints can't win away from home, Giants are as streaky as they come. They'll probably miss the playoffs again next year.

Manning has been in the AFC for over a decade...alot of good it has done him and his 9-10 postseason record.

49ers - an elite defense and really a QB/PR away from the SB + the NFC West blows.

I tend to agree that SF would've been by far and away the best destination for Manning. Manning to SF instantly makes them an elite team and perhaps the NFC favorite (pending the draft).

Manning to Denver makes them a good team that'll likely make the playoffs unless some of the other AFC teams rebound.

49ers WR's blow did Michael Cabtree even make a catch in the entire Playoffs? You cannot win with only one receiver TE/WR Vernon Davis. If Moss is the Best WR on that Team at this point in time they are going to have major problems.

I expect the Chiefs will win that division this year. Denver's defense is now going to be facing passing barrages, since teams will be worried about shooting matches, and that defense will be toast anytime the Dynamic duo of Miller and Dumervil can't get to the QB.

The Patriots showed how to slice up that defense last year. Teams will be doing that a lot this year.

Manning/Elway are in for an embarrassing ride.

That would explain why they too made a play for Manning.... I think Scott and RAC are feeling the heat and the courage of their convictions is diminishing, especially where Cassel is concerned. I don't think Daboll will be able to counter that...no matter how well RAC may get his defense to play.

More money? I was touting this in previous threads, but if Manning cared about his legacy he'd join Arizona which he could still put up big numbers and win now in a weak division. In Denver, I'm not sure the tools are there and the weather is not going to help him late in the season.

Davis is already a beast,Gore probably still has something left in the tank, they just signed a Giants WR that killed us and let's be realistic here...Alex Smith is no Peyton Manning.

Pretty sure Manning can make any offense go but it's not like the Broncos are super talented on offense.

Although I don't really care for the guy as a player, they did sign Manningham.

Check out this 2012 Broncos schedule.
Good luck Peyton!!

HOME:
Oakland
Kansas City
San Diego
Pittsburgh
Cleveland
Tampa Bay
New Orleans
Houston

AWAY:
Oakland
Kansas City
San Diego
Baltimore
Cincinnati
Atlanta
Carolina
New England

Could easily win 11 games and 11wins the AFCW every time... SD used to own him in SD, not so much recently. He's always owned Houston, even with Mario. Pittburgh is getting old, which will suck in the thin air. NO isn't the same team outdoors. Baltimore and us on the road will be his toughet games.

Not even close. The best setup in the AFC was in Kansas City. The Jets would have been better. The Titans would have been better. The Dolphins would have been better, if he'd signed early enough to have his receivers brought with him.

So avoiding his brother is more important than choosing the team with the best chance of winning. Thanks for making my point.

The Broncos won the AFC west and a playoff game with freaking Tim Tebow at the helm. That would seem to indicate that the rest of their team is pretty good. Citing three teams that didn't make the playoffs last year does not help whatever it is your point is.

Manning has said he doesn't want to play against his brother unless he has to. The Williams sisters try to avoid this (and look miserable when they are forced to do it), the Klitschkos definitely avoid this. This seems like a pretty legitimate reason to have a preference for the AFC. The idea was always to pick the best situation in the AFC. While you say authoritatively that the Dolphins, KC and Tennessee are better situations, the objective facts suggest otherwise, and it is completely reasonable for Manning to think that Denver's situation is best. It's not like he chose Jacksonville over Houston or something.

nobody has mentioned in months how good the Packers were last year. They have to be loving that.

I wonder what the fans think about Elway as a manger now

Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker will be known much more because of Manning two young up and coming Big WR's.
