Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Adam Gettis is the other guy who impressed me - Iowa trained, shame he's under 300 lbs.

Gettis dominating the group1 drills. Top 40 time, vertical leap and broad jump.

Blake and Jones also putting up solid numbers in those drills

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Maybe it was just a bad game, but Jones was horrible at the Senior Bowl while Brewster shined..

And yet Brewster has had a poor year, and Jones has had a very good one. Brewster's looked horrible at the Combine so far too. Very very uncoordinated and unbalanced.

Interesting that you say that Brewster had a poor year because I've heard the opposite from people on this site..

Not sure which games they were watching. A lot of his hype came from his junior year, he looked anything but a top prospect this year.

Leary and McCants looking good in the agility drills.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Osemele looked really good. Love drills like this.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

One of the things about Zeitler is that he's a former HS wrestler.. Wouldn't mind seeing him with a Pats Jersey.. I think that Dante could do more with him *GRIN*

For a tackle prospect, Brandon Mosley's the one I'm interested in. Haven't seen him drilling yet, how's he doing?

Looked okay in the first agility drill. More to come yet though.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

And I really like McCants. A little smaller than we like typically, but can move and bend.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Zeitler with a really nice drill there.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

DDC is the best Guard prospect for years IMO. We haven't got a shot at him though.

Ya, there's no question he won't be there when we draft, especially after his showing so far in the Combine.

I'm impressed with Gettis so far in the Combine. Unfortunate he's not bigger.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

My sleeper pick for the Pats is OT Tom Compton Sout Dakota ... 43 career starts ... all time conf top 50 ... 5.0 and 5.1 40's with 1.69 10 yard split at 6'6" 311. I think Connelly gets signed and I liked McDonald when he played at OC. Don't think we need to draft OC. Remember BB doesn't draft OGs, he takes OTs and makes them OG.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Was impressed by Baylor's Blake too - my new OC pick for the Pats. Glenn's having a great pre-draft season. Ahead of Mike Adams as far as I'm concerned.

As an aside to anyone. Last year Box O'Rocks pointed out the minimum requirements the Patriots like for O/Linemen in the drills, particularly first round O/linemen. Does anyone know which drills the Patriots like for OL's?

You're looking at the three cone and 20 yard short shuttle. All the guys we've drafted in the last 5/6/7 years have posted a 20 yard shuttle time in the region of 4.5

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

Does anyone know how my guy Josh Oglesby has gone in the positional drills. I know he has a horrendous 40 time (4.78), but I'm interested to see how he's gone in the drills. Its a shame he got hurt so much because he had all the potential of an elite OT. At 6'6" 338lbs with 35 5/8 inch arms he is the prototype. Unfortunately knee injuries have taken away his lateral agility.

Stiff. Tried hard in the 40 yard, but has struggled to show any kind of explosion or fluid movement.

He could probably do with losing some weight to help his recovery.

6 knee surgeries over the past 5 years, unfortunately I think he should consider giving it up to protect his quality of life. Having knee's that bad at his age, I would hate to see it have long term affects on the kid. Its a real shame, because like I said, he had so much potential.

That's surprising, I haven't heard anyone say that about Brewster in the past year, I have heard people try to explain away his bad performance because of coaching changes and other weak links on the O-line.

Re: * The 2012 Combine Drills!! *

I thought Ogelsby looked ragged in the drills. Like he was struggling just to keep up.. Wasn't impressed with the footwork. Seemed to turn to early in the outside pass rush protection drill. He may be a guy who converts to guard at the next level..

Watching him in 2010 I though he could be a monster guard because once he gets his hands on you its all over. The biggest issue though would be his height. Being over 6'7" leverage could really be an issue inside.
