Rewarding Silvestro for never giving up and making his dream come true means something too, doesn't it?

When other teams hang on to scrubs(not saying Tiquan is one) that cost them games while guys who bust their ass sit on the sidelines that could play better and never get the chance, isn't that actually worse?

When the Pittsburgh Steelers decided to start a QB that I could see a mile away costing their team their playoffs, didn't they screw over 52 other guys, their organization, and entire fan base, for Ben?

I find it interesting that part of preparation for the Giant D was to use smaller quicker players in the DL roles on the scout team, and then Silvestro, who is a smaller, quicker DL is activated.
I predict we will see Silvestro as an inside pass rusher in obvious passing situations to try to get a quick push up the middle.

Because while the spygate scandal would have you believe otherwise, knowing what a team's plan is doesn't really freaking matter if you're unable to execute.

The Giants will be able to figure out most of the Patriots game plan in 15 minutes. Doesn't mean they're prepared to execute against it.

That would be the equivalent of finding out how you're going to die, before it actually happens.

One of the offensive advantages I thought we had coming in to this game was Josh and BoB creating one heck of an offensive game plan, with wrinkles that would have suprised the piss out of NY, why risk this element of surprise? Why?

I mean why take the damn chance of releasing a guy that has the complete game plan in his head and he's free on the street now to do whatever he pleases with it. What did that buy us?

You might as well ask how we know the Giants aren't going to pay Ivan Fears $6,000,000 to give away the game plan and throw the game.

Why? Because they needed to activate a ps squad player who will be active in the game, and therefore cut a player who wasn't going to play anyway from the 53.

It bought us the ability to activate a practice squad player who they clearly felt could help them in this game over a player they clearly already decided or expected would be inactive.

Isn't it very possible that Belichick explained things to Underwood? That they simply needed a roster spot for Silvestro? It doesn't mean it's a wonderful feeling for Underwood but I doubt the conversation wasn't longer than "You're cut. Get out."

My guess is Tiquan is a Patriot again shortly...unless some other team wants to sign him to their active roster.

IMO he understand why and what is happening because he was informed of the plan. He will get his SB share, and will be back on the roster ASAP. He has seen how R Ventrone has bounced around. He is eligible for the PS others are not. I expect to see him at camp next summer competing for a roster spot. He has made some contributions and will be rewarded with a SB ring this summer.

Please guys correct me if I am wrong but I think the team can and would vote him a playoff share right? So he gets a ring and a pretty nice payday from the Pats, a payday that is that is much enhanced if the Pats win. He has worked hard from what I can see anyway. I would be shocked if the Pats did not vote him a half share or more, probably more.

The Giants cannot vote him a playoff share.

I'm sure it means a world of difference to Tiquan. Even if he only played one snap in the SB he'd be able to tell his grandkids that the played in the SB with one of the all time great QB's.

Now his story will be, I got cut the day before the SB and didn't play in it at all after practicing with the team all week.

I sort of get the football logic behind it....maybe...but cutting a guy the day before the actual game is extremely harsh (unless he did something to warrant getting cut that is. e.g.- screwing up badly in practice).

BB does everything he feels gives his team the BEST chance of winning. If that means a defensive end like Silvestro is more of a gameday asset, then so be it. I like the coach who puts the good of the team first.

If Tiquan had earned it he would have made the final Superbowl roster. What this teaches him is he needs to get so good that he won't be cut by another team ever again.

Yes, Bill is so ******ed he would totally overlook this "subtle" problem so many people are pointing out, that could cost us the game, at the expense of promoting one PS player and all the negative media that's a result of it all.

The only thing more obvious than this obvious potential problem is that it's an obvious non-issue.

That's it. Nothing here will ever surprise me again. Boy, some of you are really embarassing yourselves... Tiquan was a street FA. Nobody wanted him. We've signed and cut him three times already this season. We took him to a Superbowl. They don't revoke his tickets. Or kick him out of his hotel room. There is absolutely nothing abnormal about this move and the timing of it. BB has done this before several times. It's one bottom of the roster guy swapped for another and I'm sure it's game plan related. I'm sure Ty gets his share/ring and all that if it happens. Really this is not a big deal..

So it would be so much more super dooper for Underwood to go through tomorrow and then find out 90 minutes before kickoff he's not going to be active? That would be such a greater, awesome feeling for him?
