Game Day Thread The official Patriots vs Ravens AFCCG thread

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Lastly, we have never allowed promoting the use of any illegal streaming. This is illegal and will be enforced by copyright holders, which puts this site at risk. DO NOT POST ANY LINKS to those platforms.

This also means, there absolutely cannot be any mention these platforms, spaces, special characters, etc. - so do not get creative in trying to work around this request.

If you do you will have your account suspended.

I do not have the means to deal with legal issues and have already been contacted previously, so this absolutely needs to be adhered to. If you see any illegal links, please report them so a mod can remove them.

It can't get here fast enough

ugh

I haven't wanted a win this bad since Feb. 2008

I'm glad the site header labeled Spikes and Ninko; I would have never been able to tell them apart otherwise.

I have a feeling that the Pats D is going to show up big time today. They have been MIA all year, but last week they finally had most of their moving parts and Moore seems to be the player that the secondary needed. I love Spikes especially against a running team. Remember most of the Pats defense was playing high school football the last time the Ravens played in the Superbowl.

There is only one week of film on this defense and that was against Denver so that really doesn't help the Ravens. Flacco was under seige last week by the Texans, and only the only reason the Texans lost that game was a couple of dumb throws (by a third string rookie QB) and one horrendoues decision by a punt returner.

Also look for Ridley to have a big game.

Signing off now, hopefully I be back after the game to say I say right (or to edit this post)

Well, I'm sitting at Logan waiting for a flight, which has been delayed so we'll get in the air just before kick-off and be flying through pretty much the whole game.

My fault for not figuring this out when I booked the ticket!

Anyway, just let me say this.

Win or lose, it's been a FANTASTIC season.

Watching the Gronk and Hernandez (and Brady and Welker and Arrington's interceptions (and Vince's) and Benny running for all he's worth) brings a huge smile to my face. Yes, there've been things that have made me want to throw a shoe at the screen too (Sergio Brown, Molden, Tracy White, Ihedigbo, Slater and a bunch of other special teamers looking clueless on defense!) but I started following the team in 1981 (2-14, baby!) and all I can do is be thankful for everything Bill Belichick (and Brady and Mr Kraft) have achieved.

Enjoy the game, folks -- and GO PATS!!!! :rocker:

You're not flying an airline that has those small tv's in the back of the seat in front of you? It would kill me to be flying while the game is being played, lets hope you land to some good news and plan Feb 5th a little better

NFLN teasing their next segment, a look at how the 2009 Ravens went to NE for a wild card game and beat "the mighty Patriots." Um ... do they mean the 10-6 Patriots that had just lost their top receiver the week before? The team that had barely started rebuilding its defense after losing Vrabel, Harrison, Bruschi and Seymour in the off season?

Is it/was it snowing? Someone just sent me a snippet from a report saying there's snow everywhere and more early tailgaters than they've ever seen before!

My prediction. Pats lead 21-3 at half, win 38-17. Brady has big game. Flacco throws for 300 + yards, 3 picks, with most of the yards in the second half after Pats open 31-3 lead. Pats get 4 sacks and constantly harass Flacco. Rice runs for 90 yards. National media says no way Pats can win Super Bowl with a defense that gave up 400 yards against the Ravens.

We got a bunch yesterday, but it stopped and it's just freezing cold now.

Snowed yesterday. Picture perfect blue skies today.

I'm watching GameDay morning and can't help but wonder if McGinest has shown Marshall Faulk his SB36 ring? :singing:

Steven Tyler to sing the national anthem.. let's hope she doesn't mess it up or fall down on the way to the mic.

The flyover is going to be a big fat C5 Galaxy.. curious choice. Wonder if there's a message in that.

Ask the Captain to announce the score.

I'm watching this championship chase thing. Now I'm getting nervous. Damn you NFL films. All it takes is a narrator lol.

Cheesh. We complain when we get dissed and we complain when someone attributes the aura of success from past years to a 10--6 team. No wonder the mediots pay no attention to what fans say or think. :singing:

I don't mean that in a hostile way and sorry if it came across that way...just that we can't have it both ways. For many in this country, outside NE, we're the Cowboys and Steelers of the 1970's and the 'niners of the 1980's.

Relish it. They didn't say stuff like that about the Pats before 2002.

That's why I won't fire up the Plasma until about 2:45...just in time to hear the game predictions but avoiding all the garbage beforehand. My blood pressure would be elevated BEFORE the game if I listened to that crapola.
