Joe Flacco's numbers drop off significantly in the playoffs.
Category Regular Postseason
Comp pct. 60.8 53.1
Pass YPG 215.9 153.3
TD-Int 80-46 6-7
Total QBR 52.8 31.5
Any questions?
I understand that. I'm not disputing the fact that the Pats are favorites. They should be they are at home and the Ravens haven't been good in recent history on the road.
You could throw the fact out that the Ravens have lost to the Jags but I could also throw out the fact that they are 7-0 against playoff teams. Seems they play up or down to their competition which could be a bad thing for the Pat's
Don't twist my words!
Doesn't exactly mean a lot. 6(?) or so game sample vs 64 games. I'm not defending Flacco, but using that as if it is definitive doesn't work.

A few notable players that are no longer on the Raven's defense this time around:
1. Dawan Landry - Safety
2. Dwan Edwards - DE
3. Dominique Foxworth - CB (He's on IR, but kind of a wash since L. Webb has stepped up hugely)
I think Landry is the biggest miss of those guys. I think our TEs can victimize those Safeties and I don't think McClain and Lewis have the speed to match up.
Rumor has it Reed and Lewis have declined significantly in terms of skill set? Is that true? What say you Ravens fans?
They make up for a lot by studying film and being in the right place. Reed is certainly not the tackler he once was, but can still bait a qb and get his picks. Lewis is a liability against the pass, but still a beast against the run. Look for him to blitz on 3rd down rather than cover a TE or RB. Still, the number of ILBs better than him is very small. To be honest, Suggs is the one who can take over a game now. He is a complete player, not just a sack artist.
And you are being obtuse.
You are measuring Lee Evans ability to impact the game based on his stats this season ?
And I thought the Bills were in your division.
Denial is not going to help you. Lee Evans is back from injury and itching to make an impact.. he is actually a pretty good receiver.. trust me.
Of course they will come out throwing...Pats pass D still sucks..they are going to test it with some deep balls to that speedy WR...Flacco has a strong arm..just not an accurate one

So as a fan how do you think they defened the Double TE formation when both line up on the same side as Welker?
How is that not a hard argument to make? Sorry i really can not give Brady any credit. I think he team is horrible, the DECENT team they have beat was the Broncos...and that is a stretch...why does everyone think that team is so good? OH wait...it is because of Uggs...and he isn't even that good anyway. No where near Peyton Manning, or even Rodgers. I'd even rank Stafford above him. His team makes him look good...the others make their team look good.
The metric that I found interesting and I've published it in another post was that the Ravens are 11-0 when Rice has 23 or more "touches".
His value to the passing game cannot be overlooked.
35 year old, 6 foot 1 inch 230 pound Brendon Ayanbadejo in single coverage on Gronkowski...AND hope the Pats only go with 2 WR's and 2 TE's....sounds like a real effective defensive strategy....
The dude can cover. At least slow him down a bit after the catch so Pollard can clean him up. Better idea than a 5'10 DB.
