Has this guy ever picked the Pats?and if not how
come those other bozos don't call him on it.

ugh, never mind I just answered my own question.

Rich Eisen called him out for it a few years back. I remember screaming THANK YOU at the tv

Expecting a rational opinion, comment or perspective from Marshall is like giving your dog a Rubix Cube and getting pissed because he didn't finish it in under 5 minutes.

I used to get mad when I listened to him but now I just laugh, he probably doesnt realize how much of an ***** he sounds like.

I love listening to Faulk talk. It's great.

Marshall Faulk can make anyone feel good about themselves for the simple fact that they aren't him.

It's funny, you can almost hear him wishing to himself that it was all true. Faulk is a douche and will NEVER pick the pats. They day he does, then I'll worry.

He isn't even worth a response from me. In fact i didn't even write this.

I asked bedard via twitter about his assesment of faulk's comments and he responded

I think Patriots are going to have a ton of trouble with DEN off, but that wouldn't be why they lose.It would be because the offense choked. Highly doubt that happens against DEN's scheme.

Marshall Faulk picked against the Pats.. what else is new..

He's one of the worst analysts out there and I don't think it's even worth a thread.. his comments are always dumb.

Marshall Faulk is definitely one of the worst analysts. But as much as ESPN is tough to watch these days. NFL network coverage is amateur hour. They have their great moments. But whenever I have to watch Deon Sanders and Michael Irvin on the same panel I have to change the channel. They really need to get better player analysts.

I thought this was a joke post. And I thought it was going to be a very disrespectful argument that pelts the #2 most efficient defense in the NFL who sent the Broncos on their 3 game turnover frenzy skid.....

But honestly the guy made a good point and I gotta give him credit for taking that stance. Not many guys would pick Denver, especially one of the first to do it with a compelling argument on TV, but if they play that kind of game, and Brady throws a pick, it's not impossible the Broncos to beat the Patriots. Denver deserves a bit of respect after their win. Enough is enough and I'm glad he stepped up and took that pick.

Having said that, this is clearly a team of the moment, flavor of the week, choice pick. And it's wrong. It's not thought out. Denver beat the #1 defense yes. But more importantly Denver beat the #27 most inefficient offense.

Most games are in fact won by the most efficient offense, so Tebow aside, the more efficient offense beat the #27 offense. Great, now you got the #4 coming back up and they also have the #2 D. Even if Denver does all that, their defense will break to the Patriots. Even if Broncos can hang, as long as TFB doesn't throw a pick, they will still outscore them.

Not gonna happen. The smart bet is still the Patriots by far. The #2 defense will slow down an average offense. The #4 offense will smoke an average defense. Bet against the Pats if you want, but know it's a long shot.

You need to cut your "efficiency" crap. This is not the "#2 most efficient D" under any circumstances. They give up the 2nd most yards and 14th(?) most points. The only thing we've done a great job at is creating turnovers, that is NOT something you can bank on every game.

What evidence do you have of our "#2 defense" slowing down the average offense?

We gave up 488 yards and 24 points to Miami's below average offense.
We gave up 448 yards and 34 points to Buffalo's pretty average offense.
We gave up 504 yards and 19 points to Oakland's average-below average offense.
We gave up 427 yards and 25 points to Pittsburgh's below average offense.
We gave up 463 yards and 27 points to Washington's below average offense.
We gave up 437 yards and 24 points to Indianapolis' below average offense.
We gave up 393 yards and 23 points to Denver's "#27 offense".
We gave up 374 yards and 24 points to Miami's below average offense.
We gave up 402 yards and 21 points to Buffalo's pretty average offense.

What about these makes your think we have the "#2 defense"? Your defensive efficiency crap is garbage. The only reason we won these games is because our offense caught fire at one point or another and scored 30+ points in 12 of our 16 games.

Very few teams not sporting our offense would be able to win those games.

Yes, our defense made some stops and forced turnovers, but they still are nothing close to the #2 defense. They are what they are, the 14th best in points allowed, paired with the #3 scoring offense.

Edit: And I don't even hate our D, but they are what they are, and that is not #2. They keep too many opponents alive in games that shouldn't be, but they do make some clutch plays.

It's been 10 years now and Marshall Faulk still hasn't gotten over it.

He's going to go to his grave bitter about losing to the Patriots, and I love it.

I was on a falcons board earlier today, I was looking at Julio Jones highlight videos and I stumbled on it. As I read through the posts, there is a lot of DUMB people out there in this world just like Marshall Faulk that think just because Brady hasn't won a playoff game in a few years that he's not the same QB, anyways these falcons fans were actually saying that Joe Flacco is a better player... Faulks very bitter though

On November 11th, 2011, the same day Skyrim was released, the phrase was referenced on the site

a fairly strong opposition to to the joke has been formed. Those who oppose it believe that the joke is overused, causing it to lose it’s comical value

geez. A 'pop culture' reference that was "popular" for less than 60 days before its demise.

Ninja, next time please try for something with a little more staying power - less obscure.

Don't want to speak for someone else but I think he meant the DENVER D is #2. Not ours. At least that is how I read it.

(that is, that our #4 most efficient offense would beat their #2 ranked D.)

I swear that if they put Marshall Faulk on a polygraph, the result would be that every word and gesture is the truth when he speaks about the New England Patriots. At the sound of the words Brady, Belichick or Patriots, his eyes go cold, like a doll's eyes.

Willie McGinest should head straight to church and thank God that he made it out of that studio alive.
