It's easy, and only takes a few moments.BB didn't not want Mangini to go a rival, he felt that his friend/protege was making a poor decision, and the protege dismissed the advice. Remember, BB walked from the chance to BB HC of NYJ for the exact reasons he told Mangini to walk away. And while BB ended up here, there was no certainty he would get another offer when the declined the job in NJ.
Before BB was "promoted" to HC NYJ, the Patriots faxed over a request to interview DC Belichick for the Pats open HC position. Within hours, Parcells kicked himself upstairs to an oversight position and quickly appointed BB to his vacancy to thwart Kraft. I think that BB had good reason to believe the interview requested would land the Pats job as he'd gotten along well with Kraft.

Regardless of that facet of the story, BB is on record as saying that he didn't want the Jets job because of ownership. The point I was making was when you your mentor advises you to not go to work somewhere that he personally has decided is the wrong place to be, and you go, that is, at the least, disrespectful to the relationship.

Your comments was "Manginis defenses" were great.
I'm not diminishing Mangini's contribution to the coaching staff, but he isn't bringing new ideas. As I said he learned literally everything he knows from BB. You seem to be searching for coaching that would improve the defense. I don't know how you get that by bringing in a guy who would mimic what is already in place.
The bad blood would seem to overwhelm the ability to absorb and communicate what BB instructs.
I'm not advocating for Mangini. I don't like what he did at all. But, it is an interesting idea. I don't buy that BB is a God above all man; I think he's a great coach, a great manager, and a great builder of a team. His skill is in putting all the pieces in place to build a winning team. Mangini too had certain skills -- maybe it was defensive play calls, maybe it was making adjustments, maybe it was organizing effective practices, maybe it was statistics, but it had to be something. At any rate, the reality remains that the BB defense have not been very good since Mangini left, so to me it's an intriguing thought to bring Mangini back. I agree with you it probably will never happen because of the bad blood, but maybe 6 or 9 months ago Mangini was asked about his relationship with BB, and he described it as "a work in progress," so maybe there's not as much bad blood now as there was.
That just it, I dont think it has been widely reported.
There is a stereotypical belief that decisions are always factored by 'in the division' but in reality I don't think there is much to it, especially with BB.
If not for Bledsoe, people would still be saying "BB would never trade within the division" because people like to assign their personal beliefs to BB and pretend they are his, but clearly BB doesn't believe in that one either.

I don't see him in any hysterical terms..I see a rat...a stool pigeon..proven in the press...he is vermin where I live...I can't speak for attitudes in Sanduskyland, where up is down and white is black.
Look, I've got twenty years in at work and have mentored many a young jedi in my time. Many of them have moved on to other parts of the country and achieved higher levels than me. I'm fine with all of that, HOWEVER, Nothing pisses you off more, than one that turns on you. I never had it happen, but I did have to remind one once about the consequences of doing so.....
Honestly I think that Mangini was BB's "guy" and once he turned on him. I'm pretty sure that he is dead in BB's eyes. I don't even think that they even speak. I would pay money to see BSPN sned him to Foxboro to interview BB this week.
Bottomline Mangini will be lucky if ANYONE hires him to be an assistant (if he turned on his mentor, why would you hire him on your staff?).
