Official "GRONKED!" thread

The first one all season that could bring Gronk down easily.

Lol, you guys are too much!

Lost in all the Jones talk was the fact that there were a few Cowboys that got GRONKED before the bye began. To wit:

Cowboys S Gerald Sensabaugh, you've been GRONKED!

Gronk with his Gronk Hammer!

I wonder how many people, amid by all the Gronkiness, are noticing that the guy is putting up some serious numbers.

Rob Gronkowski Stats - New England Patriots - ESPN

With 36 catches he's closing in on his total of 42 last year, and on pace for 80+; yards this year are 495 compared to 546 total last year – a pace for 1,100; 29 of his 36 catches have gone for first downs (!), 5 for TDs. And Reiss shows that 76 percent of the passes thrown to him are going for completions.

All this on top of being a stellar blocker. I know Graham is getting all the ink this year, but this guy's all around game is hard to beat. Vote Gronk for Pro Bowl!

Jim Leonhard, you've been GRONKED!!!

Were talking Halo and Call of Duty...I will challenge a few people off Twitter in a few days. I just got back on, need practice lol

Can anybody come up with a .GIF of him delivering that super spike to Strickland's face, the one that he got the 15 yard penalty for? That would be on point.

I've never seen any player get into such a total trance when he scores like Gronk does.

I half expected Goodell to fine him for that, but it's pretty clear Gronk had no intention of showing the guy up. He's like Nuke LaLoosh: "I love winning man, you know what I mean? it's like .. better than losing!"

I am convinced Gronk will go down as one of the greatest TE to play the game. Deceptive speed, decent route running, phenomenal hands and unparalleled size and strength for the position. He's got all the tools and for the next few years at least, he's got a premiere QB throwing him the ball.

I believe his greatest strength is his ability to make plays in the red zone. Consider Tony Gonzalez, the undisputed best TE in the game only got 10+ TDs 3 times in his illustrious career. Gronk will barring injury get his second 10+ TD season in as many years.

From Grantland.com writer Bill Barnwell's latest entry:

New England Patriots 37, New York Jets 16

Fabulous: Rob Gronkowski. The Jets have some of the best linebackers and cornerbacks in the league, but they really struggle to cover Gronkowski. How bad of a mismatch was Gronkowski? The Jets actually moved Darrelle Revis off of Wes Welker to cover Gronkowski at times during the second half. The only other tight end in the league that Revis sees reps against is Antonio Gates. Gronkowski was 8-of-11 for 113 yards with two touchdowns, and if not for a stray footstep in the end zone, it would have been three. What he's doing as a red zone threat is unprecedented; teams know the Patriots are going to go to him and still don't seem to have a prayer of stopping him. Gronkowski is now two touchdowns away from becoming just the second tight end in NFL history to score 10 or more touchdowns in back-to-back seasons, a distinction he will also solely share with Gates. And keep in mind that no tight end has ever been able to score more than 10 touchdowns in a season more than three times in his career. Gronkowski's about to do it twice in his first two seasons. This could be the best tight end ever, folks.

Regards,
Chris

Don't forget, he makes excellent pancakes as well. Alge taught him well.

Brady, on GRONK spiking the ball:

"I didn’t see it. I mean, he spikes it every time he scores, so I don’t know if that’s flagrant or what," Brady said during his weekly call to Boston sports radio WEEI on Monday. Asked if he spikes the ball after a (rare) rushing touchdown, Brady added: "Yeah, which happens like once every three years. But when Gronk scores -- it was like his eighth touchdown of the year -- he spikes the ball and he deflates the ball. I love that, because I like the deflated ball. But I feel bad for that football, because he puts everything he can into those spikes."
