I'm a fan of both teams. But, the Red Sox players lack of committment is startling. Can you imagine BB putting up with non-sense like that? It's easy to see why one organization excels on an even playing field. While the other. They do have 2 rings. But, can't put it together despite a huge advantage in payroll over every team in the AL except the Yankees can't make it as a wild-card 2 straight years.
Why anyone watches MLB anymore is beyond me.
That business model is so screwed up and the inmates run the asylum.
Baseball fans in this era are simply Masochists.
Soap opera drama is the lifesblood of sports talk radio and nowhere is that more evident than Boston or NY.... That's part of the reason that despite consistently winning the NEP bore the snot out of mediots... Unhappy callers are their true core demographic.
Yup. I had to be out in the car for a bit a few weeks ago, and heard that Breer would be on 98.5; figured it would be worthwhile because he's a good football guy. Usually. But the subject of the day was how BB didn't directly answer Breer's question about whether Haynesworth was "a good guy." (BB gave his usual answer about AH doing everything he was asked to and working hard blah blah.) One of the producer guys was particularly indignant, saying that Breer is a legitimate reporter and knows football and BB disrespected him. Well, I agree: Breer knows football. So ... why ask the soap opera question?
I follow all the Boston teams, but you are right, baseball is screwed up. How MLB expects to cultivate new fans in a city like Pittsburgh or KC is beyond me. One thing that I really like about the NFL is that it is a level playing field in terms of finances. You can't simply outspend the other teams by a factor of 3 or 4.
Is this Pats related?
