Tarpinian's body dimensions are very similar to those of John Lynch, and he probably has much better measurables, I like the idea of him in a SS/LB role as well as special teams. We need a nickname for him though.

Son of Tarpin?

Obviously Belichick has been impressed.

Tarpinian was in each of the "they kept that guy over _______" at the roster cut-downs. Tarpinian made it through the final cut-downs, over guys like Yeatman, Eric Moore, Gerard Warren, Cohen, Lee Smith, etc.

I agree - ST focus, hopefully protecting some of the safeties on ST.

And I assume it is partly health - he was injured most of training camp, yet they kept him on the roster. He must be fully healthy now.

I have to say that I am completely in the dark about the bottom end of the roster moves that have taken place since the end of camp. There must be some logic to it but for the life of me, it is confusing

3 words now, everybody, repeat after me:

"Game plan specific."

Goodbye, Mr. Edds.

BB must think Tarpinian is gonna be a beast! No other explanation why he has lasted this long.

This comment seems especially random. Why would you expect him to take White's spot in 2012.

.
He is taking Tracy White's spot in 2012.

Why random? Tracy White is going to be 31 next year and he is a FA too. Tarp was a ST demon at Iowa.

He was a beast ST player at Iowa.

This is accurate. When healthy (not super often unfortunately) he was also a good linebacker, lots of experience in coverage.

White was a free agent this year also. I have seen no one suggest that White isn't playing well.

So, if you comment isn't random, there are choices. Perhaps you just cut everyone over 30. Most considered White our best special teamer in 2010, and he continues to play well.

Tarp is a marginal player and may become a solid nfl special teamer. And he may, or may not, make next year's squad. But there is no reason to believe that he will replace White on the 53.

TARP is here to bail us out.
