Expecting a wide receiver to be fully integrated into the offense after a few weeks is stupid. It's simply hard to fathom anyone is dumb enough to think that.

18 snaps is realistic for game one without a standard offseason.

He may or may not behind. That can be determined within the facility not in an ESPN studio.

Has anyone noticed he's been tweeting less than he normally does the last few days? If he doesn't tweet anymore, keep updating Facebook, his website, his smartphone app, show up on tv, websites, etc. and he still doesn't produce on the field, who's to blame? We'll have to wait and see what happens, but what if this continues through the entire regular season? Are they going to give him the entire regular season to learn the system with little to no results? What if he starts becoming inactive for games, and then you get the typical Belichick quotes "we can only play 45 guys on game day... we wish we could activate everyone... each week is different, we'll see who plays game by game" I can only see his role expanding if they use 3 or 4 WR sets in games with 1 or no TEs, which is unlikely to happen with Gronk and Hernandez, he's only going to see significantly more playing time due to an injury or a particular matchup on a DB that the coaching staff likes.

Galloway was signed in March. Davis was basically done, garnering just 2 catches the following year, having a one year spike to 33 after that, and then finishing his career with 13 and 6 reception seasons. Gabriel was given 12 games with the Patriots, went back to Oakland for another 3 games, and then never played again.

Unless you're saying that Ocho is completely shot, his problems aren't similar to any of the players you just listed.

I think it was in 2009, Tedy was talking about something in the lockerroom and Vince came out and said he doesn't know because he's not there. Maybe it was during the Merriweather drama.

We were speculating if this was Vince's moment where he became the lockerroom leader.

By the way, I wish Tedy would have gotten into the ear of a guy like Adalius Thomas. It might even be better if Tedy sat down with Chad and said these words to him privately…but going off like this in a column to air his opinion seems a little too personal and even unprofessional.

I do think that Tedy has earned the right to speak his mind after all he has contributed to the Patriots way. But I agree that it would have been better if he had taken this up with Chad privately instead. Then again his job now is as an ESPN anlayst. He gets paid to speak his opinions. And something like this generates a buzz for ESPN.

Chad's best response to this would just be to hit the film room, see what it is he needs to do to be the NEXT guy to catch a 99 yard pass from Brady or at least be in position to do so. I think it takes time to build chemistry and understanding of the system sometimes and certainly a shortened training camp is not making it any easier. So we should give Chad some time to get it together before throwing him under the bus.

thanks! I had a rough year - mostly work related. On positive note, they sent me to Norway and Poland which was interesting. I hope to be posting here again now that life is returning to semi-normal

Anyway as much as I love Tedy I have to disagree with his rant and think it was uncalled for. One of my pet peeves with retired players is when they feel they still no what goes on in the locker room. I think Mayo said it best in 09 after the 4th-2 play and I am sure it can apply to this situation as well.

"I have the ultimate respect for Tedy and everything he's done for this organization, but he's not in this locker room at this point in time, so he doesn't know the feeling that this defense or this team has."

Also guys like Bodden and Edelman (and about half the roster) tweet just as much but I haven't seen anyone ridicule them, yet ocho has 1 bad game and everyone is quickly to say his tweeting isn't the "patriots way" or that his formation penalty (something that probably happens multiple times per week) is him not getting it.

I'm tired of hearing from Heath Evans and all those silly threads "oh, Heath Evans is available, let's get him".

He was a marginal player on the team. he wasn't a devastating blocker, he was good for catching the occasional five yard pass. He's obviously a talker, he talked himself into a Patriots legend from JAG.

Look at Aaron Hernandez and you see everything Evans might have aspired too and how lacking he was.

Great, there's another yacker on TV for me to ignore, that's fine.

I've got a lot of respect for what Bruschi and Harrison have to say, and if you want Heath Evans opinions, well you can have all of them as far as i'm concerned.

Yeah, I always tune in to hear Michael Irvin. You don't get it, do you. I don't listen to any of these clowns. I do catch Bruschi and Harrison on the rebound and find them very entertaining.
