Looks like any hope the Pats fly under the radar this year is gone. Half the ESPN so called experts have the Pats winning the Super Bowl (two others have them losing the Super Bowl). Many of the preseason pubs already have them either going or winning the Super Bowl.

Personally, I don't buy into these predictions, but I don't like the Pats to have a target on their backs either.

We went 14-2 with a very young team last year. During the offseason, we didn't lose anyone of significant importance and we also added some veterans with great potential. Add to the fact that you expect progress from the young guys who made impacts last season.

I don't see why this is a surprise.

We didn't lose BOB either.

Fools !!

Obviously none of them saw the Pats get killed in Detroit... and of course, what about that awful draft w/o an OLB or DE at the top???

Never said it was a surprise. I just don't like the Pats being the universal Super Bowl pick. Call me superstitous or overreactionary, but would rather see the Eagles, Jets, Packers, whoever be the "It" team.

I hear ya. But For the past decade for the most part, we've been picked to go to the SB or win the SB by a lot of experts every single year. Expectations are always high for this team. Only the year after Brady got hurt and last year was when there was some doubt whether the Pats could continue their level of excellence. We squashed all doubts last year whether we're declining or not.

To be honest, I like the Pats as well...

I am afraid of jinx I hope we win rings.

Damn! Six of 12 pick us to win it all. I hate it when that happens.

I wish we could return to the good old days when no one paid any attention to us until early December and only then to write about how lucky we were and predict our imminent collapse.

Now, every time the Pats play a so-so game or, God forbid, actually lose a game, we'll have to read dozens of "The Pats are overrated" articles.

The only good thing about this is that the Jests' board must be seething in anger over the pundits' failure to believe Rex' thread straight SB prediction. That'll be fun to read. Think I'll go over there now.

The chargers game that second week will tell me about this squad. That game might set the tone for the whole season.

Not me.

I want the Pats to go 19-0 with Marshall Faulk, Mercury Morris and Rex Ryan having to move to Shame, Texas and live together in a dilapidated trailer with no inside running water down by the river. They would have to get jobs as carnival workers cleaning up behind the elephants and be pelted with rotten vegetables from visiting (and taunting) children. Further, they would have to wear sandwich boards stating "The Patriots are the Greatest Organization in Sports History" on one side and "I Am an Idiot for Not Seeing This" on the other. In order to make ends meet, they would have to appear together on tv talks shows at $50 per pop to cry for mercy and be laughed at by studio audiences. Then they would be flown up to Foxboro once per season thereafter to scrub the plaza in front of the Patriots Hall of Fame with dental floss one micro inch at a time.

........Outside of that, I'd be happy with the Pats 11-5, getting hot at the end and winning the SB like they did in 2001.

LOL. Never gonna happen but you've got a vivid imagination, I'll give you that! I'd love to see the Pats make it to the Superbowl again and win it all. Tom Brady needs to add some more hardware to be considered the GOAT.

I get a Kiick out of convicted coke dealer Morris moralizing to the Pats and BB. I wonder if he would have been "Mercury" without the blow? I wonder if the Fins would have been 17-0 without the marshmellow regular season schedule?

I really want to punch out Rob Parker on First take. Biggest Pats hater out there
