Solder's first big test?

This Saturday Solder will be going head to head against Kyle Vanden Boche. I look for this to be the first really big test for Solder this year.

So far he has played very well. But if he can hold his own against Vanden Boshe, then that be a good indication that he is the LT of the future.

It will also be interesting to see if BB starts Solder this week or goes with Matt Light. As interesting as that match up would be to watch, the utmost concern is protecting #12. Even if BB is happy with solders progress he may decide to be safe with Light.

If he does start Solder, my eyes will glued to that match up.

Comcast Sports guys were saying the most intriguing matchup will be Ndamukong Suh going up inside the lane of Connelly's area

Connelly will have help but what a challenge it will be if Suh targets that side to get to Brady.

It will be interesting to see how BB manages the LT position this season. Solder has shown me enough that he deserves playing time. But Light has the big contract. Who do you sit...the big contract or the high draft pick. Does BB see different strengths from each player and will utilize based on strengths? Personally, I liked what I saw from Solder in the run game. Athletic enough to pull from the T position. In pass protection, he still is raw on the inside rush.
Question...has Solder taken any RT reps at camp?

Did Solder play vs Suh in 2009?

Nebraska beat Colorado 28-20 on November 27, 2009. Suh had one sack for a loss of 17 yards, although it was really an intentional grounding. It was Nebraska's only sack.

Not sure he lined up against Solder. Solder was the LT while Suh was the DT (most likely lined up against a center or guard).

Double him every play with Koppen and Connolly, and rely on Mankins to handle any other interior rushers one on one. Can't play scared.
