Re: Ras-I and Price at practice today

If everyone is so damn high on Bodden on this board then he shouldnt be a slot guy.All i heard was i cant wait to get Bodden back, McCourty and Bodden will be lethal covering wrs.
Bodden doesnt have to be on the bench in the base D in order to play the slot in the nickle.

Blasphemy! You can only play one position in football!

Good! The Pats can see what kind of bust Dowling is before they cut him in two weeks. Total waste of a pick. He hasn't even gotten to game one of his rookie season and is easily one of the worst draft picks in Patriots history.

ppl were all wtf w/ Vollmer, and McCourty picks I know I am missing 1 more wtf fan pick.

How can you surmise that this guy is trash??? Do past injuries freak you out??? I know he broke bones multiple times (just narrowing 1 aspect down) and I wouldn't warrant those happenings by putting them under the injury prone label. The fact at the time is we needed another solid DB prospect. He fit the bill when we assess his speed and physicality (not to mention Merriweather's eventual demise b/c we would never resign the guy even if he was playing well. Merriweather is on his final yr and BB took a chance w/ a talented, physical and FAST DB. I see no problems w/ the pick. I'm bummed we passed on Brooks Reed, but Belichick obviously planned to add an influx of talent in the short FA period. How can you hate Ras since he hasn't played?

Butler is a BUST not this kid. I am no fan boy of his. I look forward to see what he has to offer us

You might need to get a new sarcasm detector.

I remember a lot of people WTFing the Mankins pick back in '05. That was about a year before the Vikings signed Steve Hutchinson to his $49 million contract, which pretty much redefined the market value of guards in the NFL.

Re: Ras-I and Price at practice today

I sthink he would make a good safety if CB doesn't work out. Supposedly he got burned badly in college by that speedster from u of maryland, forgot his name...not sure if he can have the quick feet for the smaller type of WRs...but he is a good tackler and has a great attitude. Kidn of the un-merriweather.

He was not drafted to cover speedy smurfs; he was drafted to guard the gangly giraffes such as Plaxico.

I remember that draft.....everyone went....who?
Mel Kiper was speechless....he had to look-up the scouting report on him.:rocker:

I was in the chat when we drafted Mankins. Total meltdown. Don't let anyone kid you and tell you they knew who the hell he was. Maybe one or two guys did. Some said in BB we trust. Most hated the pick.

Re: Ras-I and Price at practice today

McCourty
Arrington
Bodden

If Ras-I can step up and become a servicable CB, then we have a good set of Corners.

One of my favorite draft moments. Kiper just threw his hands up in the air and said "... what can I say? It's Bill Belichick."

Re: Ras-I and Price at practice today

Per SMY.......Cool, can't wait to see RID on the field. hopefully Vereen next.
What can i say.......

Gronkowski

or Gonzo

Mesko?

take your pick...

ppl wtf'd the GRONK pick???? lmfao for real?

I thought Mesko @ round 5 was a GR8 pick. I called Hernandez in 4th "michigan punter" I said to my dad in the 5th.

Mesko was the top punting prospect coming in that year. 5th round makes tons of sense to get one of the best Punters in college sports. It was a huge need over that Hanson douche

Re: Ras-I and Price at practice today

Anyone know how Ras-I's speed compares to Cromartie's? I know a lot of people, including me, compare Ras-I to Cromartie.

Not saying he's as serviceable as Cro or ever will be, but based upon his draft position I'd like to think that it is a distinct possibility.

Re: Ras-I and Price at practice today

good to see them out there, now lets gets spikes and ridley out there and hope bodden is not to seriously hurt..

WHY in the world would anyone compare RAS-I to Cromartie?

RAS-I is an amazing tackler and run stopper at the CB spot. One of the best Ive seen in College.

Cromartie is terrible at run support and wrap up tackling.
