I posted the info about Ellis at the practice already.

In offensive line work, rookie left tackle Nate Solder got some work at right guard. After practice, Belichick was asked about Solder at a different spot. “We’re going to look at players at a lot of different positions, like we always do so we have depth on our roster,” he said. “We only take seven linemen to a game; you’ve got to double up.”
I am telling you that we should at least see Haynesworth get on the field and play football and see that he is not the same player that was about the worst DT in the NFL last year before proclaiming him the most dominant force in the universe.
I'm saying that you are totally misrepresenting blocking schemes in the NFL.
The most misunderstood concept by fans is the double team. It happens a fraction of the amount you want to think (which is a guy like Haynesworth or Wilfork gets doubleteamed every play). I would love you to show me any clips you can find of Wilfork being double teamed as a pass rusher. When you watch the tape and think you see a doubleteam on a run play, pay close attention, because 95% of the time it is a combo block where the 2nd guy gives help before going to his primary assignment, normally a LB. But the internet is a wonderful thing so you should be able to show me a whole bunch of video clips of what you say happens.
Again, you are misunderstanding blocking schemes.
The only doubleteaming on Wilfork has been when he is on the nose, and like vs EVERY 34 NT the G doubles, or even chips then moves on to a LB.
If you really think teams devote 2 players to solely block Wilfork on every play, you need to go to the tape and get some facts.
What does that have to do with me saying that we should reserve judgment on Haynesworth playing like a champ the year after he played like a chump until he can actually get on the field.
Are you not at all concerned that a guy who was so out of shape he sucked last year has missed so much practice time mysteriously? You are convinced he is the player he was 3 years ago (which he wasn't 4 years ago btw) and ignoring he was a complete waste of space last year.
I like to think that BB will have him in the right frame of mind and motivation, but you are overlooking who the guy is, at the same time he can't even participate in practice.
Can we have reasonalbe expectations please?
If you can't figure out the answer to your earlier question based upon what I posted (post #99, unless deletions occur), it's obvious that you missed something.
My question was if there was any indication of where Ellis will line up. Not what non-information Reiss posted. The report you linked says something along the lines of "he watched most of the time". Well, WHO did he watch? Were there any positional drills, where he may have been observed watching either DEs or DTs? If so, you're not going to see it in Reiss's report. It's quite possible that there was an indicaton today of where he will line up.
Far be it from me to speak for AJ, but I BELIEVE what he's "telling" you is to take a breath and calm down and let's wait and see Haynesworth do something on the field. I'm sure Andy and everyone on this board are hopeful that the things you're assuming are what turns out to happen. I think it's just a desire not to fall into the trap that most message boards do, of being ridiculous homers who predict only the best despite less evidence than is required.
The idea that Haynesworth has proven anything in TC so far, just because he was dominant in EXTREMELY limited action, is a stretch, and I say that as someone who started DROOLING when I read about that initial impression.
Relax, be patient. You'll probably end up right.
If all he did was the stretching and then standing on the sidelines with Haynesworth, what do you think the answer to your question is?
The report you linked says he spent most time "watching teammates." What makes you think he was standing on the sidelines? And what makes you think there is no information to be had by knowing which teammates he was watching? If you think you're getting everything there is to be known from media reports, you are sorely mistaken.
Meanwhile, fellow defensive lineman Shaun Ellis was on the field, and he was slightly more active than Haynesworth. (According to Patriots coach Bill Belichick, Ellis was removed from the PUP list.) Ellis did have a helmet and did take part in the end-of-practice stretching and jogging, but was on the sidelines for much of the afternoon.
Probably standing in the field with the rest of the guys watching the walkthrough. More importantly, when they say "the practice was mostly a walkthrough", it does not mean the entire practice was 11 on 11 walkthrough. There are still usually positional drills, stretching, etc. "Walkthrough"' only means they were not in pads, hitting, etc.1.) If he's just watching his teammates during a walkthrough, where the hell do you think he is?
I think you severly overestimate the value of your posts. They did not contain any useful information. The question is, was there any indication of where Ellis will line up based on todays practice. Linking media reports that do not (nor would we expect them to) contain this information is not helpful.2.) I gave you 3 blogs to look at. One of them has it spelled out a bit differently:
Had you bothered taking my suggestion, you'd have had a different take on it. Instead, after acting like an ass to everyone in general for not posting your information on demand, you proceeded to act like an ass to me specifically, when I was trying to give you information to help you in your quest for knowledge.
Since you can't be bothered to be thankful, or even neutral, you can go pound sand.

I really do appreciate your attempt to help. But we seem to be having some sort of issue here where you are offended because i do not value the links to the reports you are posting. You misunderstand what I am after.
You're just coming across as an ingrate.
Lets just cancel the season and award the Lombardi thenOur run D is going to dominate this year under any "scheme", and you can't stand it. Why?
Tampas RB's garnered 25 yards on 11 carries. Are you a fan or just a Felger contrarian?
Our D's gonna rock this year. I'm going on factual, empirical evidence. We've only had a taste of what our front 7 can really do.
We've outscored the opposition by 52 points in 2 games after finishing 14-2 last year. Our "reasonable expectations" should be a Division Title and a trip to the SB. If you don't like it then ....you know.
You're just coming across as an ingrate.
Yes. That is what I am saying. Lets not write expectations that Hayneswroth is a man among children until he steps on the field and shows us something, esp considering when he was last seen he was getting his @ss handed to him.Far be it from me to speak for AJ, but I BELIEVE what he's "telling" you is to take a breath and calm down and let's wait and see Haynesworth do something on the field. Dude, you asked a question that you are as capable of researching as anyone else, some people tried to help you and gave you every available information which appears to indicate he didn't line up at any position, and you are acting like a dlck toward the people who tried to give you an answer.I'm really not concerned with how I come off. We're discussing football, not our goddamn feelings. I asked asked a question about Ellis in practice. That's what I'm interested in.
Right..... I get all that...... I'm just telling him to be the opposite....
We're fans.... We're supposed to be excited about the prospects of Haynesworth on the front line.... Of course he hasn't done anything as a Patriot, and he sorta sucked last year.....
As fans, most of us had a collective *********** when we traded for Moss, did we not? He sucked and quit on his last team before we got here to. But still, most of this board was electrified...... WHY.
CUZ WE ARE FRIGGEN FANS. We're supposed to be excited about brining in a gut who "HAS THE POTENTIAL" to be dominant enough that Offensive Coordinators will have to game plan for him specifically. Haynesworth COULD be that guy.
Instead, AJ wants us all to "tone it down" because he hasn't played a down here.
EFF THAT. If I wanna tone it down, I'll watch golf I'm excited to see what this new D front can do......... Haynesworth especially.
I get what your saying though..... No harm no foul.... It's a messageboard.
No big deal, PJ. If he's not capable of figuring out that standing on the sidelines except for jogging and stretching (or at least mostly for that, since no report actually comes out with some definitive form that this clown seems to require) means there wasn't much chance to pigeonhole him at either DE or DT, he's really not bright enough for anyone to waste their time with. I just put him on ignore, so it's a problem solved.
Now, for more important things:
How are you liking it back here in the states? Have you fully adjusted back yet?
