OMG, never would have seen this coming , he defiantly fits a need for your DL.
ITs a major upgrade to your run/pass D, that just got 100% better, usually need 2 guys to block AH. I mean he is a super talent, when he cares....hmm...but like when we stepped on that guys head in Tenn. with his cleats .... he is not a nice person, lol

I think someone should start a poll called " Guess # of AH unsportman like conduct penalties for the year"

Well I guess if anyone can turn him around and make him focus on doing his job BB can.

Hope this works out. congrats pats fans.

How do you feel about Bush taking his talents to South Beach?

Just saw on Twitter From Caplan. Haynesworth's salary 5.4 million salary this year is NOT guaranteed due to his missing minicamps last season.

This makes it even easier to cut ties with Haynesworth should he act up.

So we have given up a chance to draft a TE in the 5th of 2013. Maybe we can draft a TE in the 4th or he could slide into the 6th.

This could be a real good pick up or it could be another Jonathan Sullivan. But if Jets fans are laughing at this, the Patriots gave up nothing to take a chance of getting better. While the Jets just gave up a lot (Holmes) to stay the same.

BB: Albert what is best in life?
AH: To crush the Jets, terrorize their QB, and to hear the lamentation of their women!
BB: That is good! *mad genius laughter* That is good!

Bonus points to anyone who can identify the movie. But I can SO picture this conversation happening pre-game between BB and AH just before kickoff vs the Jets. ^_^

Ok........Stunned, skeptical, elated all come to mind. I've always been impressed by the way he played in Tennesse despite the antics. He's as strong as Wilfork and basically will help collapse the middle and right side of the line. This will aid Big Wil and Warren greatly as well as the LB's and the Secondary.

I'm quite impressed the Pats had the balls to make such a bold move. I like the move quite a bit.

Is that you Arnold?

Can you cry for him?

You say "Haynesworth is a giant d-bag"....I don't know the man personally and know only what I saw of him on TV in Washington. From what I saw there....he certainly seemed like a spoiled jerk. BUT WHAT was he like in Tennessee WHEN HE WAS HAPPY? Pretty good guy from what I heard from my buddy up there. I guess what I am getting at...is give him a chance here. Shanahan embarrassed the crap out of the guy.....and the skins NEVER UTILIZED Haynesworth's strengths ...or listened to him in any way. With a guy that talented...how about saying "Where do you think you can be the most effective?".....I know BB will do that...shanny wants the guy ONLY at nose....haynesworth despises Nose....and as a result...his play falls way off. I expect him to flourish again here under BB....GO PATS!

Of all the playoff failures, the run defense has easily been the worst. From Ray Rice prancing 80 yards to LdT running an outside sweep 15 yards in the endzone, it's been a horrible thing to watch. The Patriots used to have a nasty defense when they could stop the run with their front three and force quarterbacks to throw against a secondary (which was never that great but knew what was coming.)

That said, Haynesworth is a giant d-bag. There goes my one saving grace of the Pats losing to the Jets last year, that the Pats don't sell out their souls with guys like Holmes, Edwards, etc.

This will be interesting. The Pats defense already improved with an extra year for guys like Mayo, Chung, Brace, McCourty, etc., in addition to returning Bodden, Wright, and Warren.

You got it! Well the younger generation probably doesn't! It just makes me smile though to imagine this scenario playing out, particularly if AH is back to his 'monster' form from his TEN days under the watchful eye of BB.

Yeah good guys try to blind opposing players by stepping on their faces with cleats all the time.

For a 5th rounder I don't see how people can complain. You paid a Greg Lewis price for a Ted Washington upside. Completely different player than Ted who cost a 4th back in the day but if he's right AH can have that type of impact. If he's trouble he's gone. They read off a list of Pats 5th rounders over the last decade and Mesko was by far the most productive and nobody else did jack.

For a 5th and a willingness to kick $5 million to the curb at any moment, that's one heck of a Mike Wright insurance policy. Interior rush became a major issue last year after Wright was injured.

As for Haynesworth's undeniable punk tendencies...in a roundabout way, I find that kind of encouraging. Back when the Pats had a super-strong locker room with veteran leadership, they felt comfortable enough to plug in an occasional Corey Dillon. Then for the past two years they did a massive housecleaning and restocked with nothing but grade-A character guys. Maybe BB feels they've righted the ship enough to take chances again?

Or maybe they end up kicking him to the curb. Ah, welcome back, football.

Assuming we get the player we saw in Tenn, I almost can't contain myself about this trade. To all those complaining about a lack of pass rush, we just got it. The edge is not the only way to apply pressure to the passer. Tom Brady got killed in the SB that shall not be named a few years ago, and it was not from the edge.

Good call by the Pats. I never expected this, and I doubt 99% of you guys did either ha.

If he doesn't play hard for BB, I would be stunned.

Is Vince a bad guy for "trying" to poke out an OL's eye through his facemask? It's football, not synchronized swimming.

Rodney, Dillon, Moss...who am I missing in terms of guys with malcontent reputations that turned into gold under BB's watch?

Liked the idea when it was being thrown around last season. Low risk and potentially sky high reward with Haynesworth playing alongside VW. For the cap #'s posted and a 5th rounder, I love this move

I am not usually the kind of guy to start mischief but after hearing several years of Ryans bragging, SB boasting and stuff (and lately all the Nnamdi talk), I am seriously thinking of trolling to some Jets site and starting a new thread titled: "Jets get Haynesworth for a 5th". Then further down retracting by noting: 'OOps I mispoke - meant to say PATS".

You gotta wonder what kind of offseason training this guy does....if any.
