For all 8 people whining about not getting a WR, give Price a chance. He looked decent in that Miami game. Sky's the limit for this kid.

I'm OK with the wideouts. I'd like more speed but, the Pays have greater needs.

That's it? They won 3 Superbowls 6+ years ago so what ever he does in the draft is perfect?? They haven't won a playoff game in three years. BB did an amazing job last year with what I think is a middle of the road team in terms of talent. They had a golden opportunity to add a couple of impact players and they whiffed. All the past wins in the world doesn't change that.

Not good enough for you eh? What do you want, 8 out of 10, with a years collapse here and there?

What city do you come from by the way, Pittsburgh or San Francisco?

Vereen is our new explosion back and Ridley apparently is the new power back. Different roles for different types of RBs. I don't think either Taiwan or Jacquizz would do what Vereen can do better.

Yes it is debatable whether we needed to draft 2 RBs. However this signals a change of the guard. Morris, Faulk, and Taylor I think are likely on the way out now. The Pats get really YOUNG on offense. I was actually calling for new RBs more ardently last season before the emergence of BJGE and Woodhead. But apparently BB finally decided this was a serious need to address.

When the Pats couldn't run in the playoffs, their offense became predictably one dimensional. The Pats inability to kill out clock with a lead to finish off games has also haunted them. Strengthening the running game is maybe BB's way of getting back to old school Pats football.

Do we still have some defense needs to address? Yes. But the draft is only part of the offseason. There's still free agency and BB generally prefers veteran LBers vs rookies. This is a historic pattern that should surprise nobody by now.
On closer inspection that's what it feels like with the RB's but I blame the Pats for not using the Law-Firm when he was running well against the Jets. It seems to me that the Pats have added a home run hitter, which less face it most people complain is a weakness in BJGE's game anyway.

One thing is certain and that's this draft has been one of the more unusual ones for the Pats. BB obviously has more faith in the young guys on defense to improve their level of play than what most supporters do.

How about 1 more Superbowl win while Brady is here? That OK? When Brady is gone, all things change. For the next 4 years I want them to go for broke.

Everyone is confused because everything is backwards this year, draft 1st, FA second.

The Pats have no real FA of consequence (Mankins is tagged, not FA). Light is really the only one. Meanwhile the Jets for example have 3 of their top 4 WR, their best DL in Shaun Ellis, one of their starting CB (with nobody behind him)...

I don't understand how they are better off than us. Where have the steelers improved so much? If heyward is playing it's because their really talented but aging DE's aren't. They drafted an OT and a CB at the end of the next 2 rounds but how good are they? I don't see the Steelers having done anything to stop us shredding them like we do every year.

I'm not even going to pretend to know as much as any team's FO, nevermind the best team of the last decade. But coming off 14-2, with a really young D that is getting 2 of their best players back from injury, and FA still looming, I don't see what all of the teeth gnashing is about.

Oh, I've been around, mainly lurking , for years. I know how this day usually goes, I'm used to it. But usually when people are complaining we know exactly what are supposed holes are that the draft is the last place to fill it. This year we still have FA to look forward to. The running game looks like it could be greatly improved, the secondary could be a real strength, we have a ton of depth at DL and ILB. We need one really good FA OLB.

Seriously, we are one signing away from being the SB favorites.

And I'm pretty certain that the happiest this board has ever been was Maroney and Chad Jackson year. How'd that work out.

I'm with you, we have to have faith in BB. But you have to admit sometimes the picks these last couple days felt like a donkey kick.

haha...great -- superbowl fav's again -- how's that been workin' out?

The best thing about the Mallet pick is that his two favourite weapons come out next year, and both would be terrific additions at receiver. We could be Razorback North in a few years!

Who is that OLB when is the last time the Pats signed an impact free agent OLB??

Really? I think the board would have been happy to see them trade up to get Quinn or pick Cameron Jordon at 17 and Carimi at 28.

Before Colvin Bo Jacksoned his hip he was one of the best linebackers in the league. The stuff they were doing with him in pre-season was insane.

And that was how many years ago?
