A few days ago everyone at my company got an e-mail saying that since the company is a sponsor of the Packers Radio Network, the company had scored two tickets to the sporting event happening this Sunday. They decided to hold a drawing for that anyone who works here could enter (though you were only allowed to enter once, anyone who entered more than once would be disqualified.) I entered solely so that, should I win, I could watch peoples' heads explode when they found out.

Well I didn't win, but I got to thinking... if I had, what would I have worn? Pats gear, even though they're not in the game? Packers gear just because I don't want the Squeelers to win? Or no NFL gear, and just go as a spectator?

What would YOU do?

EDIT: Could a mod or somebody change the title of the poll to read "What would a Pats fan wear to Super Bowl XLV?" (I forgot the word "wear".)

I would sell the tickets.

That was my first thought as well.

For what you can get for SB tickets, it wouldn't be worth it to me to attend if the Patriots were not playing.

I would sell the tickets.

I forgot to mention, the rules of the contest stated that the tickets could not be sold... though I don't know how they'd stop you.

My wife entered because she said she just wanted to go to a Super Bowl, but it would've been a nightmare. Plane tickets would have been outrageous, and with the weather there's no telling if we'd even have gotten there; plus I'm sure there isn't a hotel room available within a 60-mile radius; and I've read online that people are charging $150 just to park anywhere near the stadium.

I thought maybe I could fake the company out by going down there and then just selling the tickets, but by the time you got there and back would you even turn a profit?

If I got to go to the game all expenses paid, I would go with no NFL gear on. If it were just the tickets, I would sell them. It's already enough that I'm still iffy on watching the game at all (I feel especially bitter this year about the Pats not getting in), without all those extra expenses that a trip would set me back.

I chose no NFL gear for this game.

If I wore Pats gear, I'd probably have to deal with people talking smack, and I really wouldn't want to have to do that. There's a time and a place for that. Plus, I don't want any more reminders of the fact that the Pats weren't there, and Steelers fans would be sure to do that.

If the Jets had beaten the Steelers, I would easily wear the gear (defined only as a baseball hat) of any NFC team other than the Giants that was playing them.

Pats gear all the way. Smack talk from two teams we beat, who had worst regular season records than us, is totaly ludicris. Show your pride and fly your colors.

superbowl gear.

I actually won an all-expenses paid trip to Super Bowl 41 in Miami and I went to all the pre-game events, however rather than feeling like my eyes were gonna bleed watching Peyton Manning I was able to make arrangements to sell the tickets. I ended up siting in the hotel bar watching the Colts/Bears play in the pouring rain while I had my certified check tucked away safely which was eventually used to renovate my basement into a place I refer to as "Sportsgasms".

I show my Pats or Sox pride all the time. While living in the NY area. Almost every day.

On that day, during that game, I would not want to discuss the Pats with giddy Steelers fans, especially if they won the game.

Time and place.

Show your pride and fly your colors.

I have never seen the point in wearing your teams jersey at a game that they aren't playing in......it's something that I picture little kids doing.

I voted Packers gear, but after I thought about it, I would wear a Pats shirt, with some homage to the Packers, like a hat or something.

I have been lucky enough to go to the last 4 SUper bowls in which the Pats have played. My experience is that unless you are a fan of one of the teams playing, most neutral fans don't wear any NFL gear.

I can give some insight to this discussion as earlier in the year my father and I attended the Chiefs Vs. Colts game in Indy (during our bye week). We thought we would have some fun with it and we got some Chiefs jerseys. He got a Cassell and I got Christian Okoye. We had fun at the game but we really regreted not wearing Pats gear. Everyone was nice to us upon seeing the jerseys the only comments we got were when people noticed my hat was a Pats hat. We would have had more fun wearing the Pats gear.

And I think this would be no different wear the Pats gear and revel in it. Sure you can get some smack talk but its only because they would be jealous. We are probably the only fans in the country that could make the SB teams fans a little jealous.

Trade them into next year :rocker: .

i wouldnt go.

Sell them and donate the money to a women"s crisis shelter. XXXXXXXX

First, I would go, to support Charles Woodson. I actually have one of his Packers jerseys, but don't think I could wear it to a game. I'd feel like I was cheating on my team. I'd probably wear a Woodson Michigan jersey and a Pats hat.

No NFL gear, because it's just odd to wear a Patriots jersey in a game they aren't playing in.

Reminds me of when I saw a guy in a Dolphins jacket in the stadium during the Pats/Titans 2003 divisional round playoff game.
