Bottom line for me is that as much as I like BJGE and Woody, we don't have a back that is a threat to take over a game.

Watching Mendenhall run yesterday made me hope the Pats can find a back either in the draft or via free agency that other teams have to account for fully in the game plan.

We haven't had a back like that since....well.....the last SB win.

If we are going to do it in the draft, this is a good year to take a shot.

Kettani's two year tour of duty should be up this summer, so you an expect him in camp (if there is a camp).

His pro day numbers were good: 4.59 40-yard dash at 233 pounds, benches 395 pounds and cleans 335 pounds, 32-inch vertical

Most of what I am reading about him has him at 6'0 - 6'1 and 245+. Could the numbers you posted be old?

Hard to say since he wasn't allowed to go to the combine and it's not clear that height /weight were part of his pro day.

Some links also say he has a 5-year committment rather than two, so we may have three more years to wait.

I think Benson would flourish in our offense. He was on some really bad offenses with Oline issues and still put up good numbers the last 2 years.

That said, I don't want to pay top dollar for a RB. Much rather use a mid rounder. If he's willing to sign a bargain deal then heckz yea

I'm hoping we trade for Fred Jackson from the Bills. Sometime they will want to give the rock to Spiller and Jackson will be 30 next season, but he's only been in the league 4 years. Does everything well, could play 3 downs, perfect for the Pats.

Ricky Williams fumbles too much for BB's taste, so I don't know that it would be a good match. He's fumbled the ball 14 times in the last 3 seasons.

I'd like us to draft a high calibur RB, either thru the draft or free agency.. A guy we can hand the rock to when the defense is containing brady. When is the last time a Patriots rb dictated a game.

You'd might have to go back to 2007, unless you wanted to count that game against the Bills in 2008.
