Michael Vick called himself 'co-MVP" of the NFL on Monday

Bark worse than Bite, it is.
Wrote this after the Philly Phail.

Execution in football refers to precise repeatability. Not hanging, shooting, electrification, lethal doses, burning, tearing asunder, or decapitation.
Though it may feel that way for the unfortunate opposition and fans, the innocent victims, the civilian casualties.
Execution is precision, precisely done. Random is the enemy of precise execution.
Turnovers, are a terrifying expression of random.
Random brings death, and even worse, losing.

The random player suffers from the highly technical deficiency known as: Temporarily Unconscious Random Douche (TURD).
TURD looks to where the run is going, or to where to make the handoff, where to throw the ball.
TURD reveals to a defense which way the ball is going, what play is going to be run.
So Quarterbacks are coached in every aspect of their movement, thought, to not be a TURD.

TURD Improvisation is random. It is a necessary evil only when a team is unable to execute,
is in a desperate, time critical situation, out of time or downs.

Otherwise it means something has gone wrong, something not part of the plan has occurred.
The team did not execute the play, the plan.
11 men work long and hard to contribute as one in a choreographed fistfight to accomplish a specific task.
The plan, the play, says this way.
TURD runs that way.

Many things happen at this point, mostly bad. The pass goes to a defender, the nifty improvised latteral
goes to a defender who happily grabs it to trot away in the improper, unplanned direction.

TURD exposes himself to personal harm by the guided missles, tanks and nuclear tipped
cruise missiles that are modern defenders. Here, Temporary Unconscious Random Douche
leads to temporary unconsciouness, or death, and the TURD is carried off the field.
This inhibits TURD's ability to execute the next play.

This is the second significant reason TURD is to be avoided.
The fundamental reason is failure to execute. TURD is never part of the plan, never part of a
formula for proper execution, game control, clock control, scoring, and finally winning.

The TURD loses, today as always.

Actually I'm hoping the AP decides to go with Vick as a Co-MVP. That will pis@ off Brady into a great game.

I want to see if Vick has really changed or was humble because he lacked success. If his off season is quiet through this contract negotiation, he's reformed. If not, he will be the old Vick again soon.

I don't think their announcing the MVP until Superbowl weekend this year.

It would not surprise me if Vick was replaced next year. I can hear the ESPN commentators backing Vick and questioning such a decision as if Vick is already an elite QB (which he is very far from at this moment). Just as they questioned what happened to Donovan McNabb in Washington.

Is it me or is there some ESPN motive going on with these 2 guys? Vick should not have even been in the MVP discussion with Brady. Take away the one game with the Giants and what has HE done?

No sir, not you. I canceled cable 4-5 years ago.
(love these tubes)
((Unfortunately, comca3t still gets a check each month in my name))

The point is, I am detached from the daily torrent of ESPN, cable news etc.
The effect has been for me to see very clearly how much things are driven by them.

I especially notice it at forums, reddit for example. Invariably, if some 1500
post political thread pops, there has been a 7/34 focus by the cable news people.
(typo retained for comic effect)

Same with Brett Favre, and LeBron. They push these stories hard, the men, the people pay the price after they reverse the script to attack the previously sold theme.

Eternally, build 'em up, tear 'em down, on to the next one.
Soon on ESPN4, for only a few dollars more.

Your're all mistaken.

When Vick called himself co-MVP, he wasn't referring to 2010, he was referring to his flag football team back at Levenworth.

I know some might want to lash out with the "racism card", when I say this, but it's true, so I don't care....

Michael Vick isn't intelligent enough to be a great NFL QB.

But neither was Terry Bradshaw I guess. So maybe some IQ challenged QB's can succeed. Only time will tell.
Being a great QB isn't about IQ as much as it is about decision making. Terry Bradshaw may not have been the most intelligent guy in the world (although I think he deliberately plays it up a bit and isn't really as stupid as he lets on) but the guy made great decisions in the pocket.

I think his attitude is going to get worse with his new contract. But if he gets the franchise tag, look out.
