Re: Your free agent wishlist... [merged]

Kiwanuka/Hali (think both have great tools that Belichick could craft into premier pass rushers, although Hali's numbers this year will make him expensive and less likely to hit FA)
I would love to have either of these guys. You mention Hali won't be cheap, Kiwanuka will take some spending too.
Steve Smith/Sims-Walker/James Jones (we don't need to spend the big money that the top names want, and even these three might be too much... but I'd like to add one more WR to the mix who isn't a rookie... first and foremost though is extending Welker)
Out of these three I like Sims-walker, talented receiver stuck in a waste of a franchise.
Champ/Ike Taylor/Carlos Rogers/Johnathan Joseph (unlikely any of these guys hit the market, and Butler seems to be improving... but would still be awesome to have McCourty, Bodden, and one of these guys)

Joseph is garbage....I'll take any of the other 3 though.

Ricky Williams.....I have no doubt he would accept a backup role here and he would excell it in I believe......Corey Dillon revisited.

Don't need Arian Foster would cost too much money. Ngata though....that would be insane Ngata and Wilfork on the same line. I haven't seen him play much but he doesn't he pretty much do what wilfork does? Can line up as either nose tackle or defensive end? Would be impossible to run on that. And then they could sign pat williams too :D .

with 6 picks in first 3 rounds ...no need to sign any big FA. Follow the old pats model or the current green bay model and build through the draft.

Ngata is beast like damn man haha, but I doubt that the ravens will let him go; he is like Wilfork to them, he is their anchor of that defense. Why do I feel like I have a man crush for Ngata now lol.

I just want Mankins re-signed. That man brought a ferociousness to our O-Line at the end of the year that we didn't see at the beginning. After him, Lamarr Woodley.

Mike Tolbert (Morris is done after this season. Maybe Taylor too.)
Carl Nicks/Davin Joseph (replacement for Neal)
Cullen Jenkins/Haloti Ngata
LaMarr Woodley

just a wish list. With all the picks BB has, and the way his drafting has been, I dont think we'll be active in FA. Besides, we have our own to resign :)

I would take Tolbert but with so many draft picks..they dont need big time free agents

It depends on the cap. We will spend it if we have it, and use the draft picks as well.
While we are a tremedous TEAM there are very few positions or units that couldnt be upgraded

It'll be interesting to see what happens with the o-line in the offseason. Light/Neal/Mankins/Koppen

I actually don't think that's a big deal. With all those guys being FAs they'll want to sign back together (barring Mankins of course, although I do believe the success we're having right now will help negotiations on BOTH sides). The comraderie on that line is as strong as any other on the team.

stuck in a waste of a franchise
Agreed. I was desperately hoping they'd get back in the playoffs somehow this year when the Colts were faltering... would knock out the Colts and would be yet another ridiculously easy playoff victory for us if somehow they made it into Foxboro. Garrard is atrocious against good defenses and in games that matter.

RB: Resign BJGE.
WR: I wouldn't mind having a look at Breaston as a deep threat or Malcolm Floyd if the price is reasonable.
OLB: Woodley or Hali could be nice to plug in at OLB. The money might be too much though.
S: Eric Weddle might be a nice upgrade for the Pats pass defense.

I would consider some upgrades/replacement to the OL but they are often extremely overpriced as free agents. So I feel our best bet is to find replacements in the draft. I don't mind having Light or Mankins back but only if the price is right.

1. Logan Mankins - a must
2. Nnamdi Asomugha if Oakland declines his $17 million option for 2011
3. Lamar Woodley if he somehow reaches UFA
4. One of Ronnie Brown, Michael Bush or Ricky Williams to compete with BJGE
5. Richard Marshall - CB depth with possible move to FS

Asomugha and Woodley are unlikely but the other moves could get done.

Why would the Patriots be remotely interested in Asomugha with the talent they already have at CB?

After signing their own

OG daryn colledge
DL Cullen Jenkins
RB Ronnie brown
LB tamba hali

Are you serious? That's right we don't want too much talent on the team, do we? I'll tell you why they would be remotely interested. He's one of if not the best cover corners in the NFL so that should peak their interest a little. He is a high character player that the Pats like and played FS in college so there is position flexibility. McCourty is great but I don't think you'd pass up NA because of Bodden- 30 yo coming of a year on IR, Butler or Arrington. Do I have to explain to you why the Pats might look at Andre Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald or Demarcus Ware or Haloti Ngata IF they were availiable?

I would really love to have Mankins back but chances he won't. After him, the list of OLBs seems really nice. I would like to get one. Everything else we can get through the draft. We would also need a veteran guard if both Mankins and Neal are gone.

If he's so good, why would Al Davis set him loose? Overpaying is never a problem for Al.

The guy I'd like to get from Oakland is Michael Bush.

I have no idea whether he would or he wouldn't, Al Davis is not exactly the most predictable person. Fact is that Oakland must pay him the higher of $16.875 million or the avg of the top 5 QB, if they don't he will be an UFA and they won't be able to franchise him again, so the possibility remains.
