Hernandez and Cunningham out for the Pats

We're doomed!

I heard on PFW in progress that Hernandez supposedly got hurt on his second TD when he high stepped into the endzone. If so that's a real shame. Hopefully Gronk has big game to make up for Hernandez absence.

He's listed with a hip injury, right? Not sure how you suffer a hip injury on a high step unless the injury report is lying about it, of course.

Your hip isn't attached to your leg?

Moore plays DE, not OLB. He may get some more snaps in sub packages where Cunningham may have rushed from, but won't help the OLB depth in the base D.

But Moore has played very well so far. Should help with the DL injuries.

Moore plays "DE" in the Nickle sub-package. He's not a normal 3-4 DE. Not at 260 lbs. And Moore has lined up at OLB in the base 3-4 defense.

I really wonder sometimes whether people watch the games.

Technically, yes. But he'll be playing with his hand on the ground, not standing up is what I meant. Cunningham has great value in that he can do both, he's the best OLB at setting the edge, and Moore won't be able to help in that area.

Moore does not always play with his hand on the ground. Only sometimes. Seriously. Watch the games..

Anyone still think we shouldn't rest as many starters as is physically possible for the last game if we somehow manage to lockup the 1 seed tommorow?

Wright must have gotten seriously hurt in the Colt game. This will be the 5th freaking week in a row he is out.

Wright suffered a concussion. There are numerous degrees of concussions. And how each person's body reacts is different. For instance. Marc Savard of the Bruins had suffered from Post Concussion Syndrome for almost a year. Pat LaFointaine had to retire because of Concussions. So did Wayne Chrebet.

Some people, it only lasts a few hours.. Others it lasts days. And others never recover. It's why they've become the "HOT" issue.

Yep. Just like strokes, really hard to know just based on the diagnosis what the prognosis is.

we have Cohen right?

I'll try, thanks for the tip

Most of the time I've seen Moore, he plays DE in sub packages. I haven't charted every single one of his snaps I admit, but will pay extra attention today.

And the Taylor Price era does NOT begin today. . . .

The Patriots announced Aaron Hernandez, Jermaine Cunningham, Dan Connolly, Brandon Deaderick, Mike Wright, Myron Pryor, Taylor Price, & Thomas Clayton will all be inactive for Sunday’s game in Buffalo.

That's a really weird alignment. Dane's definitely where an OLB might be, but there's really only 1 DL out there to go with 5 LBs. Cunningham and Tully have a hand on the ground on either side of Big Vince. Then Guyton, Mayo and Fletcher who are all ILBs out there, and all front-6 guys rushed the passer.

McCourty and Arrington are at corner, with Chung coming into the picture and I assume Meriweather deep. So I'd have to guess there's a third safety somewhere deep like Meriweather while Chung is playing that safety/LB hybrid. In that case, then both Guyton and Dane are OLBs.

Which is all a really long way of saying it's not really a normal set-up. Then again, who knows what BB will devise now without Cunningham?
That is our 3-3-5 nickel.
We have done a lot more of that this year than the 4-2-5 which we favored in other seasons.
Fletcher gets most of his reps in the sub, often with those other 5 guys.

Funny, you are both right. Dont know why people need to throw out insults over misunderstandings.
Moores position is OLB.
OLBs play DE in sub packages on this team.
In the 34 Moore would be an OLB
In the sub, he would line up like a DE
The substantial majority of the snaps he has been on the field for have been sub.
Think Derrick Burgess. He played half the snaps last year and was in a 3 point stance for 98% of them.

Thanks for the clarification. I have no prob admitting when I'm wrong (since I have a ton of experience with that over the years... ) but always appreciate it when I can learn something from it.

I'll try to watch Moore a bit more today, since he is getting a lot of reps lately.
