After studying all of the data including, 3rd down defense, red zone, turnovers, passer rating etc, has yielded the following break down of the statistics....

The NEP leads the league in the stat called "W". Having amassed 5 of them. Tied with Pitt and the Jets.

However, the NEP are in dead last place in the stat called "L" having only one of them. Also tied with the Steelers and Jets.

I didn't have time to finish reading and just skimmed the OP, but I'm sick and tired of the Pats always sucking. BB needs to go! Tom Brady isn't TFB anymore. Even Ryan Fitzpatrick is performing up to and exceeding Brady's standard. Our drafts suck. We should never have traded Moss...or let Milloy, Law, Samuel, or Cassel go! I wish we had the brain trust they have down in New Jersey. Those guys get it done, year after year, while the Pats sit and spin their wheels.

Unbelievable!

Heh, yeah. You'll get to know that I'm rather critical of the pessimistic types that masquerade as "realists". Most people here are pretty cool, but there are a few here that probably do have the mindset of my above post. Sad really, given the crazy success of the Pats over the last decade.

Btw,

:welcome:

Fitzpatrick's Bills are in FIRST place in the L stat!!

What is this "W" you speak of??? It sounds like a very confusing stat, that most fans cannot comprehend or understand

In fairness to the doom-and-gloomers, not all of them say they are "realists." Some claim to be "objective."

I am not completely sure myself. But I do know it is not nearly as important of a stat as the 3rd down defense % or time of possession. A few posters made that very clear in other threads.

Dumb thread.

Broncos fans were saying the same thing when they went 6-0 last year. Of course you need to look at the stats, who've you beat, how you beat them, etc. The Bucs are tied for the second most wins in the NFL, if you're going to take that at face value then good luck.

I knew of the "realist" would show up. Thanks for not letting me down, I know I can always count on one of you guys.

It's a message board, so I'm not sure why anyone would expect otherwise. If the thread was precisely the opposite in nature, there would be homers coming in and talking pixie dust and unicorns.

I don't know why people have such a hard time appreciating the fact that the Pats are 5-1, while also realizing that the team has areas it needs to improve in. You can do both without being a "homer" or a "realist" or whatever. I'll say that I really like seeing how the team appears to be coming together, and I've been getting that feeling that they can find a way to win no matter what similar to the Pats we've grown accustomed to prior to last year. Let's hope it continues.

Just having a little fun wih Pete Deus, he is after all Pessimistic

While I do appreciate the tenor of this thread, and find it amusing, I am still very concerned about this game tomorrow. Favre might not be in good condition and might not be the greatest QB out there anyway, but still, we have a huge mismatch vs their offense with Harvin, Shiancoe, AP and Moss all to keep covered. Additionally, they have the #6 def in the NFL (YPG). And yet, I sense a sort of resignation that we assume we will handily win this one. Really?

Cautiously optimistic is the word....

Have to stop Peterson numero uno....pressure Favre into making his usual gaffe....

Winnable game unless Pats completely unravel on defense....

I am not saying that. On any given Sunday.....

This thread is not intended to suggest that the Vikings are pushovers or we will win easily. More it is a response to the two threads discussing 3rd down defensive stops and time of possession.

Ah, sorry then my mistake. I haven't gotten to those yet.

Hey, a fair and balanced post! Who do you think you are? Fox News?

This is the true reality of the situation. The team is 5-1 and finding ways to win, yet there are still holes, and these young'ns need some growin up. There will still be lots of oops on the field. Enjoy the wins and watch for progress or regression among this young squad.
