NBA Season Opener: Heat @ Celtics

15 >3. Nice win to start the campaign. I can only assume the Heat will get better as the season progresses and the team finds chemistry.

The Celtics defense is going to be scary good when Perkins returns (assuming they all remain healthy).

The Heat actually don't have that bad of a team around those three. It's just too bad Mike Miller's thumb got absolutely destroyed. We could have used him tonight.

Also thought that the team played better when Z played. But, eh, I guess this is what happens when you have an inexperienced team that really didn't get a lot of practice time together under their belts going into a hostile environment against a championship caliber team with the best defense in the league. It'll be interesting to see how much more in tune both teams look when they play again in 16 days.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss! Heat are not going to be able to bang with the Celts. Sorry homey. ;)

Like I said, the Celtics looked VERY good last night, and should still be the favorite in the East. However, the Heat put a team on the court last night that had maybe two practices together, total, before the game. The second biggest piece of that equation was coming off a hamstring injury and a lack of practice for the last month in a half. The third piece of the equation was swallowed up by Kevin Garnett. The way this team played in the first half, they had no business even being in this game. On top of all of this, they were playing the best defensive team in the league at home with a playoff atmosphere crowd. And, with all of that considered, the Heat pulled it to within three with over a minute remaining and had a shot to win it.

This team will get better with playing time together and will be there at the end of the season. With that said, though, I have major concerns about our ability to get rebounds vs. teams like the Celtics. The team played better with Z in there, but he's as soft as cake and Joel Anthony is undersized. That's where the Heat will be getting killed throughout the year.

Funny how the season is.They beat miami and they go on the road to cleveland and are about to drop a game to the cleveland cavs.Wat a joke.If this team has any title aspirations they need to get home field throughout the playoffs.

Dude, it's ONE GAME. The Celtics are coming off an intense, emotional game last night. A letdown is to be kind of expected. On top of that, the Cavs are playing this game like it were a playoff game to show that they can win without LeBron. Like I said, it's one game in 82. Don't freak out.
