Mankins Will Report By November 16th
By: Ian Logue

Chris Mortenson of ESPN reported Wednesday night that Patriots guard Logan Mankins will report by November 16th, and plans on participating in the final seven games of the season....

I wonder if BB will bench him so Connolly can continue getting valuable game time experience?

That would be sweet!

Oh, hello Logan... long time no see. Pull up some pine, Connolly's been doing fine!

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised. Connolly is a part of the the atleast near term future of this franchise. Mankins isn't.

Offensive line play is a lot about trusting the guy next to you, and its tough to do that when the guy hasn't been playing for a year.

Can he be asked to stand so that he doesn't hurt his a** when warming the bench?

Interesting tidbit in that, as long as he signs the tender by 4PM on the 16th, the team can also trade him by that time.....

What is interesting is there has been zero rumours on Mankins' agent discussing a long term deal with another team.

It would be in the Pats best interest to have this done because it will max out compensation.

It would be in Mankins interest with the franchise tag over his head.

With so many teams needing oline help; it's hard to imagine something doesn't get done. However, logic and Mankins are exactlly bobsy twins lately.

He really needs a deal "in place" prior to signing his tender if he is to be traded.

I dont see why we cant at least try and make our team better by getting Logan into the team. If a team is willing to part with a good draft pick then so be it but I like the idea of adding him to this already good Offensive Line

What does he get paid for the last 6 weeks of the season?

Is the tender offer still in effect?
Can PATs change that offer to the vet minimum?

It would be nice if the money grubber ended getting only 6 weeks of
vet minimum for the season.

All this dissent is really unwarranted

This is one guy that really blew it for himself! I find it hard to believe he was following the best advice given to him from his agent or anyone for that matter and acted and made decisions completely on his own based on his own emotions!

But I will say that I will NOT jump on this bandwagon of dissent from fans just because he acted the way he did. Fact is when it comes to personality on and off the field I love everything about this guy.. He is one hell of a fighter and sticks to his own principles even though in this case they hurt him.. I have never viewed him as some prima donna.... He is just someone that has strong principles.. and fact is as much as we love the Pats.. they haven't always taken the high road or acted righteous when it comes to contracts personal. A situation that was overlooked when they were winning SB's but now the longer they go with out winning the harder it will be to get those elite veteran players who are going to come here just for a chance to win..

If he is able to swallow his own pride which at this point it looks as though he has had too and is able to work out a long term agreement with this team I would be very happy to have him back. I think he is a difference maker and raises the play of all the lineman around him.

I find it difficult to believe that somehow he's going to sign a deal with another team that will pay him so much more than the $7M the Pats offered PLUS another $4.3 million to make up what he lost by not playing here until Nov.

I believe that the very high contract $ demand for an OG is keeping the other teams who could use a guard upgrade from approaching the Pats with a trade offer.

Yes and he can not sign the franchise tender till week 10 and then show up again at week 10 and get 5 million of the 9 and then become a FA 2012

what game are you watching. Currently all our good runs are right side behind neal and vollmer.left side runs are all delayed draws and othe trick
plays. we cannot line up and run left for any decent gain.

He "plans" on it, eh? I wonder what "plans" BB has for him.

I hope he pulls a hammy climbing in the hot tub.

I think they should inform him he's riding the pine unless he reports before the trade deadline.
