NFL.com news: Chiefs' version of the Patriot Way no longer just an imitation

A fascinating read. The part about Crennel making in-game adjustments to shut down the Chargers in the red zone, was pure old-Pats right there.

The KC defense is also very 2001 Patriots-like. They are only ranked in the middle of the league, and give up lots of yards, but are extremely stingy in the red zone and only give up 12.5 points per game.

Why didnt we try to get him back, And Weiss

We probably did; I'd be surprised if they wanted to come back. After they both had failed head coaching gigs, going back to the Pats would do nothing to advance their careers. They've already shown what they can do here. Showing that they can do it somewhere else increases their value.

The current game is 9-9. Chiefs should be up 12-9 if Haley didn't make a poor decision in the 1st quarter.

This game is so great. Haven't seen The "Manning Face" in a long, long time.

Romeo Crennel still has Peyton Manning's number.

Chiefs aren't even making the playoffs.

Hmmm, well all-time when a team starts a season 3-0, 70% of the time they make the playoffs. We'll see.

The Chiefs could have won this game. Cassel's receivers had about 4 huge drops that could have led to 10 more points, and with those 3 points they could have picked up in the 1st quarter that could have made the difference.

Duane Bowe is a sure drop in almost any scoring or big play opportunity. :bricks:

The Chiefs receivers royally screwed Cassel against the Colts.

That's great, but who are the Chefs.

Great oogley-mooglie.

Didn't expect the chiefs to win it, but they didn't allow Manning to score a TD and their defense was pretty solid. Makes them a fairly legit team, I'd say (and having gotten much better since last year -- Weiss/Crennel). Too bad I missed the Manning face, but maybe we'll see it again soon.

Thats what he says...

Agreed. Cassel would have had a decent day, around 250yards and a TD or two, if his receivers just caught some easy passes.

That rookie tight end they have though has hands of glue. His name escapes me.
