you need a master thread ... "The Team According to MossWelkowski" ...

In your own sub forum also ... so everyone can be educated.

Well I dont understand why people are making up threads like... "Fitzgerald for a mankins and a first..."

Belichick has never brought anyone here mid season so half of these terrible trade threads can stop.

He never traded a future HOF player either (mid season or maybe at all)...until recently.

BB will do what he feels is best for the team (overall = now and/or in the future). Just sit back, enjoy the ride, and cheer for the team he puts on the field

... good luck ... that's been going on forever.

i attribute it to this:

You have your fans who enjoy their team.

You have your fans who enjoy and brag about their team.

the ones who brag about their team are afraid of eating crow...thus the threads because they are freaking out and are powerless to change anything.

That would explain their lack of recent success.

I have a hard time ever thinking Bill makes a decision that is bad for the team.

Certainly he knows the odds of a decision being not the best.

But he also well knows the odds are in his favor.

Even if he went 4/5 where 1 in 5 decisions are bad we are still ahead.

We've won the most games since 2000-2001 ... we are in football nirvana IMO.

Just because it hasn't been done before doesn't mean it's not going to happen now. Hopefully Bill realizes the question mark we have at split-end and he realizes that taking any one of Hernandez, Welker, or Edelman out of the slot to fill that question mark would hurt their games.

If it happens will you delete your account?

Corey Dillon? I don't remember the details but I think it was during the season.

The Moss deal seems like the opposite of the Dillon deal; this time we get screwed.

Corey was a MAN. He killed guys not just on runs but he totally destroyed blitzers. I took savage delight in that as must have Brady. Second toughest RB the Patriots have ever had next to Mosi Tatupu.

I hope your right.
I don't want Diva WRS that want huge $.
Branch took the Pats and us fans to the cleaners and cost us BIG time while he was under contract, VJax is a Diva holdout that wants 10 million per year and he is one DD case away from a big time suspension.

No Thanks

You guys forget about Ted Washington? If we need somebody, and they're available, he'll go get em.

Edit, I think we traded for him after 3 preseason games, not regular season.

I would totally take "Fitzgerald for a mankins and a first" all day long.

This thread is generally against how the Patriots locker room works and how salaries are worked out.

Everyone on this team earns their spot and their pay.

You cannot have a higher paid player playing a position where he is not the best player. When you do that player needs to go for the system to work.

Belichick ... if he could bring in someone whose pay pretty much slots in to the current team slots might do it and work around the earning the keep part slowly. But I doubt it ... I really do. If Bill brings in a receiver it's a mid tier type of player who makes less than Welker.

He cannot bring in a player who makes more than Welker who is the current veteran voice of the receivers.

Miguel's UNOFFICIAL 2010 Patriots Salary Cap Information Page has Welker at $4.32 Million.

That number is the key to who can come here ... no doubt in my mind.
If Bill brings in a player it's for less than $4 million or nothing.

And prior to Jerod Mayo, he'd never drafted a LB in the first round.

Belichick opperates on what he thinks is best for the team, not some predefined pattern.

Almost all of the receivers being mentioned are better than Welker.

That being said, BB has also brought in tons of FAs making more than his vet leaders.

Adalius Thomas was making quite a bit more than Vrable, and Bruschi.

Where did you come upon that theory Doctor? I agree it's not a great idea to bring in expensive free agents, but what in the world would a top WR have to do with Welkers pay?

Hate to use the example, but they sure weren't worrying about other linebackers pay when they brought in A Thomas.
