Rumor: Moss to Vikings?

Not open for further replies.
Addendum: Even though I'm ~ obviously ~ a RAMPANT Tigger, I actually enjoy Brother Pat's persistent composure...And his brevity...polar opposite of my own style though they be...But it's very refreshing to see him go BEAST on us!!

Sort of validates the whole Composed Brevity thing!! ;)

Waiting patiently, like a faithful dog for its owner for the Chargers and Pats in negotiations over VJax.

Yes, I'm quite aware that that concept is beyond you. ;)

It's not beyond me at all.

1. You don't gain anything when you get rid of your best receiver.

2. Welker will now be specifically gameplanned against the way Moss was, as he is now our most dangerous receiver. He also made his living exposing the pockets that were left behind when Moss took two defenders with him.

3. We're going to need to run the ball a bit more now. We have two injury prone starters in Fred Taylor and Sammy Morris, both on the downside of their careers, and a competent starter in BJGE who hasn't shown that he can get it done against better defenses. On top of that, the O-Line hasn't shown that they can consistently run block.

4. Who is the threat to take it deep? Oh right, Tate. What has he shown to make you think that he can be a deep threat in this league?

5. Who lines up at flanker?

6. How does losing one of the best receivers in the game help this extremely young and mistake prone defense?

Please provide a detailed reasoning for why you think losing Moss is a good thing. Either that, or don't bother responding.

You guys are the two ends of the spectrum, and the truth lies in between. Belichick SHOULD be questioned, but not run out of town. But saying "This will work out excellent and needed to be done" is also incorrect.

It actually is correct, but I respect that you think otherwise, particularly as you are able to recognize that Coach Bill The Mad SHOULD be questioned on his many questionable decisions...

Clearly we will go after VJ, why is this so hard for people to comprehend? All this giving up on the team talk when we are trying to improve the chemistry.

well the reasoning is that , we won with avg receivers so lets downgrade our receiving core and maybe we will win another SB....

how's about a little music to lighten up the mood a bit....

And I'm here, to remind you
Of the mess you left when you went away
It's not fair, to deny me
Of the cross I bear that you gave to me
You, you, you oughta know

ooops...wrong station:eek:

dont think aj smith will trade within the AFC and jackson himself has his own off the field issues not to mention he will need a big huge contract...not happening

If at the end of the day, the Pats unload Mankins and Moss for Vincent Jackson the Pats come out a big winner.

BTW, Moss has been a stud in this offense, but not this year. If what we saw out of him the first month is what the Pats would get all year, I am not nearly as upset about this potential trade as I would have been in previous years.

Yeah, then I pace around the room feeling guilty for sayin' it. I go,"What typa jerky am I that I gotta needle my fellow Pats fan today, of all days. One all the way in China, no less. Yeah, after he's been expressing all the same things I'm feeling this morning? I must really be a freakin' meanie."

That said, PatJew, ya are kinda stiff sometimes.

Well, that's it outta me this morning. My keyboard is all screwy & defective. Notice, I AM less longwinded than usual. ima sure yer happy 'bout that. I deserve it sometimes tho.

Hmmphh, well I never.

please tell me that if moss hits some performance indicators that this pick gets accelerated to a 2nd... i could actually stomach that. I just think it's such poor value when we had bargaining power

Joys, I thought we could go the bye week without people being super depressed!

Nevermind ;)

Kontra, I agree with you. I am not happy about this at all. I thought about it a lot last night and this morning when I woke up. I just don't get it. A third round pick for Randy Moss? It just doesn't make sense. This is one time that I am not happy with a BB decision. This one SUCKS. This hurts our offense big time. I just don't get this move at all.

I pray that happens. If VJ comes to the Pats from all of this then I'll go back and edit all of my posts with "I'm a dink."

i had the vikings game as a win for us but now iam not so sure :(

Brett still has to get him the ball, based on this season so far that's not a given

Hey Kontra, I have a question for once. ima up here wonderin' if you stream WEEI or The Sports Hub on yer 'puter while all this is goin' awn?
Lotta quality opinions, interviews with writers & ESPN guys, & scenarios (with & w/o Moss) being discussed up on Beantown Sports Radio.
You tuning into any of this?

well, considering how the offense will look post Moss, I think perhaps you should amend that to "I'm a dink and dunk..":biggrin2:

Brother Pewster, as wildly divergent as are Brother Pat's style and mine, I am unreservedly confident that both he and I would agree on this: As long as your barbs are both humorous and of high quality ~ and those directed at both of us were ~ then they are not only not even remotely offensive, but are, in fact, greatly appreciated!! :D
