Way to be progressive. According to Wiki, there are 45 million Spanish speakers in the US.

1.) This is not a political forum.

2.) The reason there are so many Spanish speakers in the U.S. is because there are so many here illegally, so pointing to the numbers isn't really helping your position about "progressive".

Dansby comes as advertised

He will be a LOAD to handle next week,Koppen and Co. are going to need thier A+++++++++++ game

Seriously- I'm still mad that we took Ben Watson over him.

When has anyone in the Government EVER spoken or written in any other language but English when talking/writing to/for the entire populace? Never. Ever other ethnicity that has immigrated to this country has learn English. Why treat Spanish speaking people any differently.

My attitude is that if you want to add Spanish to the "official" language, you better add every other language that is represented in the populace. See the problem? I understand that the Latino population is growing, but it is still just one of many minorities.

I wouldn't go to France and expect everyone to speak English, I'd learn their damned language.

Most 2nd generation Hispanics do speak English. That's typically what happens with waves of non-native speaking immigrants. Who cares if they play commercials in Spanish? It just makes them easier to ignore.

And now they're showing commercials completely in Spanish.

English is becoming the universal language, let alone being the national language of this country. If you don't want to learn English go back to where you came from and if you were born here, shame on you.

You sound like a racist, upset, whiny redneck.
Spanish is growing in the United States.

And English IS NOT THE NATIONAL LANGUAGE.
The United States doesn't have a national language.
Were you born here? And you don't know that? Shame on you.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not very impressed by Shonn Greene. Looks like a mediocre back who benefits from a good offensive line.

I've been saying this for a long while, last year too.

I think he has real good ability in terms of his wiggle and low center of gravity, and he's built like a bowling ball, and he's strong, and he doesn't get tired. All great things for a RB to have.

But he is exceedingly slow for a RB. I know Marion Butts was excellent as a younger player, but I think old Marion could probably take Greene in a race.

Doesn't Greene run something like a 4.75 40?

I said nothing political Deus, but you are taking it there talking about illegal immigrants. FWIW, I don't even live in the US.

Agreed, they really jumped the gun trying to hand him the lead-back role. Once LT wears out in a couple of weeks, things'll get interesting.

Jets corners don't look much better than ours tbh.

Anybody worried about what Marshall will do in our secondary next week?

Yes, I responded to the stupidity about posting numbers which encompass millions of lawbreakers. And "Way to be progressive" is blatantly political.

FWIW, I spend some time doing volunteer teaching in some of the less well-off areas around L.A. (Inglewood, basically). You see a lot of 2nd generation hispanics here who are pretty far behind in their English skills because they have parents who speak literally no English. They speak it, but I think in a lot of cases it might take another full generation before they can get to the point where it isn't a significant liability. Of course, I'm speaking in generalities; there are plenty of exceptions.

Who the heck is going to cover Marshall next week?

No. Because it will be a shootout no matter what. I EXPECT Marshall to have a big game. So therefore I'm not worried.

Jake Long is manhandling Joshua Taylor.. only wish Matt Light could be half of that.

How are the schools out that way anyway? The worst I ever saw was in western South Carolina, but I'm sure LA could give them a run for their money.

Marshall will see a lot of cover 2 looks with McCourty underneath and a safety over the top. That will open up the middle for Fasano.

ETA: In passing situations he'll draw double coverage from McCourty and a nickel or dime back.

btw, how was that Harris tackle on Brown not a helmet-to-helmet personal foul?

I'm not sure I understand the question, but if you mean in an address to the entire country, GHWBush and George W Bush and Bill Clinton all spoke Spanish during their convention speeches.

Ironic. But not true. Many first generations through American history did NOT learn the language when they were concentrated in an area. This is a true part of the immigrant experience. Isolated immigrants from countries with no mass immigration, then yes. Why does it bug you anyway?

Why treat Spanish speaking people any differently.

Spanish is the language of people who are indigeneous to the country--Texas, Arizona, New Mexico especially have a long history of Spanish, primarily because they were Spanish colonies BEFORE the USA took them over. Many Spanish-speaking people from those areas have ancestry born in the area for centuries. Florida is a different story because Cuban/Puerto Rican immigration is a lot more recent.

My attitude is that if you want to add Spanish to the "official" language, you better add every other language that is represented in the populace. See the problem?

There is no official language.

I wouldn't go to France and expect everyone to speak English, I'd learn their damned language.

That makes you very different than the vast majority of American tourists. That being said, in southern France, there are huge SPANISH speaking populations, especially north of San Sebastian, and in the Eastern part of the country, there are big German-speaking populations. Every country in Europe has this dynamic, even England with the Welsh. Belgium, same thing. Italy too. Switzerland yes.

So everyone sees how you beat Cromartie now right? Put Moss in motion to get him away from the jam. When Cromartie puts a jam on the WR they usually don't get the catch.
