That would open up a spot but, given the collection of "talent", might it not be better for the team to gamble on Kaczur's return, even if it's not sure that he'll make it back? I'm a lot less confident than many about Connolly, and I've got pretty much no confidence in any of the remaining 'backups'. I'm very tempted to suggest keeping Kaczur off the IR even if it's a question of "if", and not "when".

That's exactly why I'm keeping him. Even if there's only a 50% chane of him being healthy, at least he's good when healty. We *know* that the others suck, although I'm still holding out (perhaps irrational) hope for Ohrnberger.
I suspect that's why they haven't done it yet, but Connolly has acquited himself so far...still, it's NOT regular season play...the only thing I'm sure of is we won't see Mankins. From what I've seen of the depth at OL, I'm not impressed at all.
I would have considered keeping Larsen, but that's not going to happen if the Pats are going to keep Kaczur on the roster until he is ready, as that would be two automatic game-day inactives at one position for the first several games.
Welch and Ohrnberger are strong possibilities but I'll guess Bussey.
