I buy into the CHFF linne of thinking: it doesn't really matter much if you can stop the run. Its stopping the pass that matters. Unfortunately I am really worried about our ability to stop the pass. I don't like our talent or our experience level in the defensive backfield.

Given the fact that for the most part, the Pats have done well against the run the past few years, and it's the 3 and longs that always net the other team a first down, stopping the run is the least of our problems.
Hi! JoeSixPat of Christmas Past here - 2001 to be exact.
I gotta say I share your concern. We're depending on FAR too many rookies this season.
Rookie Matt Light - not even a 1st rounder, protecting the Franchise, Drew Bledsoe. That's an accident just waiting to happen, mark my words. And then who do we have as a backup at QB? Some guy with no NFL and nearly no college football experience.
Then another rookie starting on D - this guy Seymour... could be a highly paid bust.
It's pretty clear we've got no shot this season.
Hopefully Bledsoe can connect with Fred Coleman enough to keep the games respectable, but unless Bledso has a big year this season is a bust.
