By the way, I've been following the cap closely since 2003.
This is currently the lowest total salary allocated to the OLB position since at least 2002. That's a LONG time in NFL salary escalation terms. Total Pats cap then was about $75mm.

That's just because we didn't signed a big name FA (Colvin, AD)

This is garbage, could they not even have gotten a 7th round pick for him?

He'll be signing with the Jets by the time I change my socks, great move BB, this will be Kevin O'Connell 2.0.

It's true, cutting KOC haunts us to this day. Remember how he led every team except the Pats to a 19-0 record last year and then single-handedly beat the Patriots 16 times last year? Oh please, do not let this be Kevin O'Connell 2.0, or even Larry Izzo 3.1!

psshh....scoff all you want, but the jets handed us our asses in that first game ---- and who was their team captain.....?

if you've got 5m to pay him I'll bet you could've gotten him for a 7th.

O'Connell could very likely have cost us the 1st game against the Jets, and as we've seen in 08 it can only take 1 game in the division to cost you a shot to the playoffs.

Please explain to me why it's smart to let someone with intimate knowledge of your organization go and become hired by your nearest enemy.

Damien Woody, KOC, Larry Izzo, and Ben Affleck.

I think YOU cost us that first Jet game, PJ...YOU!!!

OK, I'll explain. It's smart when there's no other option other than overpaying an underperforming malcontent. Do you really think BB is so stupid that he cut AD just because he felt like it when there was a chance of getting something in return? Wow, ye of little faith.

And I don't buy that KOC made any difference in that game. Welker not playing and Brady being rusty had alot more to do with it.

Dude, you're as delusional as they come. This is just borderline lunacy at this point. Kevin FRICKIN' O'Connell could "very likely" have cost us game 1 against the Jets in '09??? What the hell are you smoking??? Why didn't every team in the AFC South offer Jim Sorgi 2M a year if that's the case???

Then again, you're the guy with the "Tebow>Brady" sign, so maybe the joke's on me for losing 2 minutes of my life to reply to this crap.

Probably. I never could get the lucky shirt/hat combo straightened out last year.

I went to the playoff game...it was so cold my feet felt like blocks of ice...and I had on BATTERY WARMED SOX.

Lack of Wes Welker cost them the 1st game against the Jets.

The second part is ridiculously overrated. The Jets already know everything Thomas knows about what the Pats run. They scout the hell out of the Pats as does every team in the division. Thomas will not know the gameplan when the teams meet. He won't know changes to the schemes put in during the offseason.

Oh my god, is that what that means? I want the last 5 minutes of my life back.

You should have put those socks on your feet, pervert.

You mean you weren't around for the Snake Eyes "Brady doesn't give a damn about football, he has lost his drive and is just an average quarterback at this point. Tim Tebow would come in and immediatly reenergize this franchise with his love of the game and hard work" diatribe? Those were the times, man.

So, depth chart now?

Tully Banta Cain
Jermaine Cunningham?
Pierre Woods?
Rob Ninkovich?
Shawn Crable?

Yikes, is the unheralded rookie, the undrafted free agent special teamer, or the third-year player with zero tackles the starter opposite the third-down specialist?

The days of Willie McGinest, Mike Vrabel, and Rosevelt Colvin are long ago now.

That must have been during one of my blackout periods.

Gerard Warren will save us all!
