It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Logan Mankins aside, show me where BB has done better in the last 5 years than these so called draft experts draftwise. Show me, if you want, I will break down every draft since 2005, and show you BB's pick, and who could have been had, and it basically would show what I've been saying all along. BB has been terrible drafting since 2005. Mankins has been his only hit. And there have been dozens of day two picks where he has blown it. I'm sorry guys, keep drinking the koolaid, but BB has been terrible drafting prospects, and if you wanna question my loyalty, go ahead, at least I have the balls to come to this thread and stand up, and offer proof.
I'm right here, patjew!!!
and, frankly, I'm a little pissed that we just drafted a guy at our spot in the 4th without producing and extra 2011 first out of it.
You can take any draft eer and in hindsight show how you could have picked better players. Thats the folly in your whining approach, the draft does not end up with the best players picked in order.
You say BB drafted 1 probowler since 05? That is really 4 drafts since no 2009 picks drafted after us were probowlers yet. And Mankins, Meriwhether have gone to probowls and Mayo was DROY. That means the only 1st round pick BB made in that run that hasn't gone to a probowl or won Rookie of the Year was Maroney. What in the world are you talking about?
How many probowler do you think get picked in 4 years drafting in our slot? Show me the teams that drafted more than 2 probowlers and 1 ROY from 05-08 that drafted after us.
You are right BB did not pick the player on the board that eventually developed into the best player left with every pick. That makes him the same as everyone who drafts NFL players.
What, one good draft day and all of you b1tches head for the hills? What, nothing to say now that BB might not have "lost it"? Gee, please come back with an 86 page thread about Dez Bryant.
I've been lurking for a long time now because I can't stand to post amongst the gripers-for-the-sake-of-griping. This board has been in need of some serious moderation lately, and for some reason it's been absent. Maybe BB has provided it himself.
Yeah, I know I'm just a stupid homer and GFY and whatnot.
Welcome to the new Pats!

First, if Hughes is the next Freeney, it doesn't mean he would be remotely as successful in the Pats' 3-4. The Colts' look for far defensive players than the Pats do and rarely would their skills transfer. Even though Caldwell is trying to toughen up the Colts' defense, they are still all about speed over read and react abilities.
Second, it is one thing to question the Patriots' moves. It is another thing to bash them for everything they do or don't do (like get high risk, flashy players like Marshall or Holmes). There are people on this board who trash everything these days. They are a subset of this board and different from people who question moves on a case by case basis. In fact, many of them are probably steal Jets fans (ramon).
Third, who did the Pats really miss out on though. People who complain about the McCourty pick because they wanted a pass rusher or DE fail to realize that there weren't many front seven players selected between McCourty and Gronkowski or even Cunningham.
Betweem McCourty and Gronkowski only Hughes, Dan Williams, Jared Odrick, Brian Price, and Koa Misi were drafted. Williams and Price don't fill a need. Since Belichick passed on Odrick, he probably isn't as high on him as most people are since he loved drafting d-linemen in the first round.
Between Gronkowski and Cunningham, the following front seven players were drafted: Sergio Kindle, Lamarr Houston, Linval Joseph, Darryl Washington, and Jason Worllds. The Pats had several shots at Kindle pass by them twice and has medical concerns. Washington is too small for the Pats. Worllds was rated lower than Cunningham. Joseph is not a need. Houston doesn't project well in a 3-4.
So all the complaints about the Pats not addressing the front seven until Cunningham is a little overstated since the Pats may have let two or three players that might fit the Pats' system pass them by.
Fourth, I don't don't defend the Pats no matter what they do. I give Belichick the benefit of the doubt that he might know more than me and I will give him a chance to prove the world wrong. I feel he has earned that leeway from me and the rest of the fanbase. I have trashed many of his moves in hindsight.

I was thinking about that too, kontra. She was hot for about 5 minutes in 1997.
A well thought-out and reasoned editorial comment, and a rare occurrence on this board lately. The answer to your question, I believe, is this: most, if not all, of the "b1tchers" have their vitriol rooted in the fact that, deep down, they really aren't Pats fans at all. They remind me of most of the New England media who are convinced that the very worst thing anyone can be called is a "homer". Better to be labeled a convicted pedophile, domestic abuser or rapist.
You want some b1tching, you got it...
I have no problem with drafting a CB at 27; Bill just may have drafted the wrong CB. Kyle Wilson was the consensus best CB available, and also returns punts, or have you forgotten that our Punt Returner is gone until Thanksgiving if then?
Bill then drafts a guy who hasn't played in over a year because of a potentially chronic bad back - and at an under-utilized position, to boot - and ignores the best Pass-Rusher available (who may have chronic injury issues himself, I admit).
Next up - or down, actually - is Bill doing his buddy Pope Urban a solid by over-drafting, by at least one round (if he should've been on the board at all), a punk with all the wrong intangibles: personal conduct, effort, football IQ, you name it. If this guy doesn't succeed, then Bill needs to fire someone - beginning with himself.
And if one TE wasn't enough, we now have Bill back to his old ways with his TE-tunnel-vision, at the expense of OLB Ricky Sapp, or DE Austen Lane.
Pass-rush problems? What pass-rush problems?
You don't mess with the Zoltan. So Bill didn't, but in the 5th round? Ahead of DE Arthur Jones, or OC Matt Tennant? Jones meanwhile was chosen immed. after The Zoltan, by the best drafter in football: Ozzie Newsome, who also chose Sergio Kindle immed. after Bill chose Gronk. The Wizard is wiping the floor with the Emperor, Who - when it comes to drafting - is truly Wearing No Clothes.
That enough b1tching for ya?
And the longer the draft goes, the more that I & others have reason to b1tch, and justifiably, too: WE HAVE DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO ADDRESS OUR PATHETIC PASS-RUSH PROBLEM...NOTHING.
Yup
No thread is complete without our resident case of herpes flairing up.
PatsfaninPittsburgh never has a counter argument other than insulting the other person.I noticed you didn't bother to actually address his points, so I will ask you" is it possible for the team to make any moves which disappoint you?
Your a troll anyways so what does it matter what PJ says or does?PJ...thats pretty big of you to "lay low" while legitimate BB critics are out here raising valid points.
You have to be out of your mind (which maybe you are) if you think this draft will change the Patriots descent into third place and mediocrity.
This draft class is a C+ at best and is being wildly overrrated on this board.
Certainly other drafts with less to work with have been better than this group of questionable picks. Other than the 2 TEs...this group of picks is pretty weak and when you think of all the incredible talent passed over...in a few years you will be looking back at this draft as a missed opportunity.
Lastly, once again PATS missed opportunities to pick up good veteran talent at discount prices...like Lendale White for a 5th...
This draft has changed nothing...Patriots will be a third place team next year
