Draft Day 3 Thread

Pats made another smart move getting their top punter in time.

Another punter off the board. I guess I was wrong with thinking the Pats could have waited and still got whatever punter they wanted.

Tampa Bay takes Brent Bowden at 6.172 with the third pick of the 6th round.

This isn't good the NFL netwrok is saying that Jamarcus' salary for this year is 9 million dollars 3 million of which has already been paid. The said that if Jamarcus doesn't take a pay cut, (which they think he will not), then the Raiders will have no choice but to release him, rather than risk him getting hurt in camp and them having to pay him the 6 million that he would be owed.

So it looks like we will not have Jamarucs steering the Radiers' ship to the top of the 2011 draft.

Anthony Dixon goes to the 49ers...

Players I would like to get:
Donovan Warren CB
Barry Church S (I know we have a good amount of safeties but he is good and could push Sanders or someone.)
Jamar Chaney LB
Micah Johnson LB
Brandon Lang OLB
George Selvie OLB
Vince Oghobaase DE
Brandon Deaderick DE
Sam Young OT
Eric Olsen C
Blair White WR
Jonathan Dwyer RB

Any of those guys I would like the Patriots to pick.

They are still going to suck regardless IMO.

Jason Campbell doesn't exactly make them contenders...

JaMarcus is no longer relevant. The Raiders traded for Jason Campbell. Not a HUGE leap, but definitely an uptick. Disappointing.

Great list I really like Warren, Young and instead of Church I'd rather have Myron Rolle.

Panthers just took Greg Hardy...

Hope Hardy does well in Carolina

I'm not in love with Dwyer, but it's been long enough... let's get him.

true. But the Raiders have had a helluva draft and made tremendous improvements. Also, as was pointed out. Campbell is no lock as the starter. Gradkowski led the Raiders to a huge win over Pittsburgh last year.

That whole division got a lot tougher this off-season. Except, maybe, San Diego.

At what pick would you start to get disappointed about the raiders pick? 15? 20?
For me, as long as the pick is top 15 I still think its a win.

WR Carlton Mitchell's a good value this late.

I disagree that the whole division improved. As you suggest, San Diego has not. I think Denver is weaker now too. Marshall is a huge loss and even if Thomas is a stud, he will not be as good as Marshall is, at least not right away. Tebow was a wasted pick, and even if he surprises, it won't be this year. Chiefs improved, but for me are still at least a year away. Raiders are a lot better.

I think a developmental DE or RB could be a good value in round 6. Either that or an interior OL. Anything from this point out are likely just developmental picks unless we luck out and get another Edelman or Cassel type bargain.

Tough player to evaluate -- he can do everything but catch.

We don't want receivers who can't catch. That's why I knew TO would never become a Patriot. This offense is built on consistency and small to medium gains. It's more west coast style in that respects. And you just can't afford drops in that type of offense.
