We grabbed Devin McCourty in the first with pick number 27. McCourty gives us depth in the secondary which we need (Not as much as D-Line). Think back to when we had Asante Samuel and we dominated. Of course our D-Line was better, but McCourty will help us against the Good WRs now in the AFC east and also dominate on Special Teams.

We have some more picks later on after trading back in the first. Carlos Dunlop, Sergio Kindle, Ricky Sapp, Terrence Cody and other D-Line are still available. Should we trade up and grab Kindle who we were thought to draft in the first anway? If we can get one of those guys we upgrade the defensive front and the secondary instantly. There are plenty of TEs we can grab later on and we can also use the other 2nd on a WR. Golden Tate is still available aswell. I am also disspointed to see Jahvid Best gone because he was a player the Pats could use but we can get a good RB in Hardesty, Gerhart or Blount. No need to lose sleep over our first round choice until we see how the rest of the draft turns out. BB is not a moron as some are saying and I believe he has some people in mind. What are your thoughts?

I'm good with a pick for the rickety secondary. Would have preferred Wilson's close-cover ability, but McCourty is pretty good and tackles well in run support (like Bodden). Maybe this reduces McGowan's snaps, which is a good thing.

I really really hope we somehow land Kindle or Dunlap, that would make me a very happy man.

Once we traded down with Denver I knew Bryant wasn't really on our board. I wanted Hughes over McCourty but I really like McCourty. 3rd CB plays more snaps than NT so its important to have 3 good ones. I had hopes for Whilite but I guess he's not in the plans & Wheatley is off the team?

No NFL network hear so was relegated to ESPN , can anyone give me a breakdown of the trades? They never mentioned the details

god espn sucks

I hope we get Jason Worilds tommorrow he is my other binky since Graham sadly went early.

A trade up makes tons of sense, with 12 picks remaining. But there are a ton of players still out there who I love, I want to make 4 picks minimum in the next 2 rounds.

We got a 4th for trading down with Denver. Then, when we traded down with Dallas we got their 3rd 90th pick for our 2nd 4th. Came out of it with an extra 3 and higher 4th to slide down 5 spots.

I suspect I'm much in the minority, but I'd take Dunlap over Kindle.

I'd like to see a swap with a team that picks early in round 2...KC, Tampa, Cleveland...#'s 44 and 47 for their early 2nd and 3rd round picks. With that pick the Pats could still get either Sergio Kindle or Rob Gronkowski, both of whom I was down on at #22 but love as 2nd round picks.

Should the trade go down and they take Kindle, either Dennis Pitta or Tony Moeaki would suit me at #53. Should they take Gronkowski early in the round, they could grab Koa Misi at #53, and I would consider it a WIN.

This move would give the Pats picks at the top and bottom of round 3. These two picks could produce any two guys out of the list of Andre Roberts, LaGarret Blount, Arthur Jones, Daniel T'eo Nesheim, Brandon Spikes, Ben Tate, Eric Decker, and any number of other guys whose names I can't think of but all of whom can help the team in 2010.

I'd be happy to see the Pats trade up to get Golden Tate, Rejus Benn, Roger Saffold, Everson Griffen or Darryl Washington too, to name a few.

Worilds would be cool.

I think I watched 5 minutes of espn and that was enough. Tom Jackson sours me. NFL Network was superb this year.

I wouldn't mind trading up for Tyson Aluala.

Oh wait Jax took him at 10!

Seriously that has to be one of the worst picks of all time. The Eagles gave up 2 3rds to move up from 24 to 13. Surely the same offer was made to Jax at 10, WTF were they thinking?

If I was a Jax fan right now I would be irate.

I expect ALOT of moving around tom for NE

If we can get some combination of..

Wooten
Worilds
Tate WR
Gilyard
Kindle
Pitta
Gronk
Carrington

I'd be thrilled, tons of really good players still on the board :rocker:

I agree. 4 picks minimum unless some team makes a mistake and is willing to give us a #1 next year

He have 3 picks in the next 22 with the following on some of our boards. That means we MUST have at least three of these available, probably many more since 13 more of Gosselin's top 53 may go elsewhere and are not listed below. Sopme are almost locks to be picked in the next 12 (Mays, Price, Clausen, McCoy, Cody, Brown and Safford). This is a great board for us.

Misi
Griffen
Kindle
Dunlop
Sapp
Wooten
Lane
O Newhem
Jones
Joseph
Carrington
Spikes

Grankowksi
Hernandex
****erson
Pitta

Tate
Gerhart

Tate
Benn
Williams

Ducasse
Asamoah

I think TE and DE/OLB are a MUST. The last could be a value pick. I'll make my guess now and say Misi and Hernandez.

I'm sure there will be lots of movement, but if they made picks as they stand, I'd like any of these players:

(3) 2nd round picks = any 2 of Kindle, Wooten, Sapp, Worilds + Golden Tate or Damian Williams

3rd and 4th rounds = any combo of Veldheer, Pitta, Gerhart or Blount,

So something like this
Kindle (2)
Sapp (2)
Golden Tate (2)
Veldheer (3)
Pitta (4)

Probably wishful thinking, but what the heck? Could happen

Yes, we need one from Group A and one from Group B. I'm fine with Misi and Hernadez.

We will have to trade up for Kindle.

I don't think we will be trading up for Kindle. I wouldn't be surprised if he is still there are 44! The rumors going around are that he may need microfracture surgery for that knee. Apparently, it set off red flags for just about every team that looked at him. I'd rather take Sapp or Dunlop at this point

I'd trade up and grab Golden Tate.

Other than that there is a lot of talent and this day to be had if we just stand pat.

It is scary how far he is falling, but you could say the same thing about Maualuga, Laurinitis, and Barwin. They all turned out fine.
