Player Signing Patriots sign Aussie punter David King

Hell, after the fins signed marshall - even some of the homers have started to turn.

eagle eye don't mean to reign on your parade but that's not the David King who was the former Richmond assistant coach and North Melbourne champion. That David King could kick the leather off a football and was a tough as nails player. I don't know who the David King is that's shown in the links supplied, but it's not the same one who played for North Melbourne.

I wasn't sure if it was him or not. As I said I remember David King when he played but he looks too young in that video. My guess is that its David D. King who was with the Magpies for a couple of years and played for the Box Hill Hawks for the last few years.

It's confusing. It seems two David Kings are trying to become punters. According to the Globe (Patriots sign a punter-in-progress - Extra Points - Boston.com) we've signed the 38 year old David King that you describe, but the video seems to be of the younger David King.

I would think you're absolutely right. David D. King wasn't much chop as an AFL player for Collingwood as I remember.

I'm sure they will draft a punter with one of their late picks for him to compete with. I like the fact that they are looking for talent in unique places. Should make the punter competition in camp interesting for once...If that doesn't work out they can bring in another retread anytime that can't be worse than they had last year.

While not the sigining most posters on this board were looking for Hanson sucked and was horrid last year. Everytime I watch one of those Aussie kickers like Rocha pin a team back or boom a 60 yarder, I wish we had an aussie kicker vs 35yd Hanson. Now maybe we do if anything will help out or defense a bit.
