Mock draft game discussion thread

Ok, so looks like no more picks due till tomorrow. I was surprised to find that Norwood had slipped into the 4th, he was ultra-productive in college and he's what the Raiders need, a leader on defense who will just produce. He's a polished linebacker who is South Carolina's all time sack leader. They needed a player and not a project, and I think they may have gotten one in round 4.

I feel like I'm reaching a little on these last couple picks, but only because I've identified my guys and want to be aggressive. So far I've been able to get my first or second option each time around (though I wanted Clausen in the first, and I'm guessing that in a redraft he'd be available now that the Redskins and Seahawks have their QBs). It's a lot of fun.

Nice pick for the Raiders, by the way. I'm a big Norwood fan; he's getting really underrated these days.

Thanks! I think a 4th round pick is excellent value for Norwood too.
Well nobody could have known ahead of time where McNabb would land.
A redraft after the McNabb trade to the Skins would definitely shake things up a bit.

Had to go with Riley Cooper in the 4th for the Jags, they really need somebody and he is big and intelligent. I honestly was close to taking Dez Bryant for them in the first round but you just can't reach from no.8 for him imo.

I'm pretty certain they will deal out of the 8th pick anyways. I really think they have to move down, they have too many positions to fill and I really think they want Tebow too. If they get to trade down and take Tebow I think Riley Cooper is a certainty if he is still there in the 4th round.

Some nice picks so far. Love the Skelton pick.

Thanks to Broadwayjoe for making the Lions' pick on my behalf. I thought about taking Myron Rolle, whose "intangibles" are off the scale- Rhodes Scholar at Oxford, for one. He is one to watch, I think, as he could pan out into something special. I think he's a real boom or bust type.

In the end, I decided that the Lions needed to upgrade at corner, notwithstanding recent signings. The Lions are interesting to pick for, as they have so many needs. Every pick is a real debate because of their multiple needs.

I was really surprised by the Anthony Dixon pick at the top of round 3. I don't have him rated that highly, nor do I think that RB is the Lions most pressing need in the draft. They do have a lot of holes, but I thought there could be better value had at that point. I'm also wondering if Walter Thurmond can come back from that knee injury that kept him out of action in 2009. Name: Walter Thurmond (+) Knee, 09/26, out for '09

The Detroit Lions draft success will most likely depend on how Suh turns out though. If he's a stud, that helps make up for any misfires in the later rounds.

Gm's I don't have a PM from patsfan-1982 and we are past the deadline. I need your help on voting on this pick. Here's the Dolphins previous selections.

Sergio Kindle LB Texas
Cam Thomas NT North Carolina
Koa Misi OLB Utah

Tell me about it I have had three picks so far and my first you can throw in the garbage now. I would bet anything that Shanny will be trading back to acquire more picks as they have #4, 103, 135 and 211. Kinda reminds me of his first season in Denver when get got Terrell Davis in the 6th I think.

You mean they still haven't taken a WR

The following teams do not have a GM so they are available for someone that wants another team or we will need to vote on that teams selection. Just let us know if you would like to be the GM for that particular team.

Carolina Panthers
San Francisco 49ers
New York Giants
Pittsburgh Steelers
Houston Texans
Philadelphia Eagles
Green Bay Packers
Arizona Cardinals
New Orleans Saints

Jacoby Ford WR Clemson

Their needs are QB,SLB,DE,RG,LT depth,CB.
